X reader fics are getting tiring. If they’re nsfw they always have reader doubt he can dominate them because he’s disabled and then he needs to prove himself it’s TIRING.
I’m glad this felt like a safe space to come out and say this. I do my best to make sure that isn’t a sentiment that readers come across in my fics. Even though my specialty and favored NSFW topic are submissive men, I’ve found myself really enjoying dom Viktor, so I feel like I can kind of speak from both perspectives.
I agree with the sentiment that many (not just x reader) fics that portray him as submissive often approach it from the angle of his insecurity which some writers assume would stem from his disability. The thing is, though, that doesn’t really… seem to be a source of insecurity for him, so it feels both out of character and at the very least vaguely ableist.
I also agree that the inclusion of the reader doubting him just because he uses a cane/crutch is… not great, to say the least. I think something like that is a telling sign of ableism that goes beyond just internalized. And is probably something the author should take a hot second to work through.
Of course there’s bodily limitations that come with a physical disability, but I really don’t think Viktor would approach them from a place of feeling broken or incapable. That’s not how he approaches anything in his life. It feels much more healthy and in character (and engaging as a writer) to include workarounds, or even just make him dominant in a power bottom and/or pillow princess kind of way. There’s a lot you can do with Viktor and his disability in NSFW contexts, as long as you take the time, patience, and care to stay true to his character and have fun with it.
#i definitely did not cover all aspects so anyone is welcome to make additions as long as they are civil#friendly reminder that i also am physically abled and have a lot to learn myself still#but i like to believe ive been doing a good ish job so far#also people are not ready for this conversation BUT#some portrayals that go all out on Viktor having a fucking horse cock or whatever feel like they are desperately trying to ‘’compensate’’#for his disability#am i making sense here#obviously write him w a giant yogurt slinger if thats what gets you going but in some fics it gets treated like his redemption and it—#doesnt sit right w me#anyway anon thank you for starting an interesting discussion and giving me a place to express some more thoughts#i hope this at least brought SOME comfort and or consolation#dicax answers

January 15, 2021: Casino Royale (2006) (Part 1)
So...we meet again, Bond. What’ve you been doing for the past few years?
...What. Not who, James, WHAT. Jeez.
Whatever. BrosBond had 3 movies after GoldenEye, and they were...not great, from what I’ve heard. Remember, I wasn’t as big of a fan of GoldenEye as many critics and fans were; so, I can’t imagine what I’d think of the latter three. Maybe one day, but not today!
Today, I’m focusing my sights on the revitalization of the brand. See, in 2002, Die Another Day came out, and that movie was apparently crazy. TOO crazy. So crazy, in fact, that audiences and critics accused it of losing the plot, and the production studio in charge (Eon Productions) had a yearning to change direction. And their inspiration came from...a surprising place.
See, Joel Schumacher’s campy, over-the-top Batman films were basically wiped out by Christopher Nolan’s 2005 reinvention of the character in Batman Begins. Which is, in my opinion, a highly underrated classic, Seriously. And in 2005, this film was absolutely a smash-hit. Batman was cool again, which a lot of people never thought would happen in film. Eon saw this, and thought...how can we apply that to Bond?
Out with Brosnan...in with Craig.
The first of the new, darker, reinvented Bond films is planned for release in 2006, starring Daniel Craig as the suave, sophisticated spy. And the director of the film was selected to be...Martin Campbell? From GoldenEye? The guy who kinda sorta started the modern over-the-top Bond? Really? I mean, OK. The writers this time are different...except for one. I didn’t talk about the writers last time because I don’t like putting people on blast if I don’t gotta. This time...maybe. We’ll see.
If this Casino Royale is basically Bond Begins, I’m definitely interested. Maybe this’ll revitalize that Bond-love from the Connery days. Let’s find out! We’re also gonna look at the Bond checklist again!
Gadgets: better have more cool gadgets than GoldenEye, I swear...
Bond Girl: GoldenEye’s Natalya wasn’t bad, to be honest; let’s see who his Inevitable Love Interest is this time.
Villain: Alec Trevelyan had so much potential. I need my dastardly villain, let’s do this. Oh, and let’s throw the henchman in here, too. Xenia Onatopp was...a lot...but she was a memorable henchman, at least.
Music: Of course. GoldenEye’s theme was good, and we’ll see how 2006 does.
OK, movie time. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap
We start at an office building in Prague, where a man makes his way up to his office. Waiting there for him is, of course, James Bond (Daniel Craig). The man is Dryden, section chief at the British Embassy in Prague, whom M has accused of selling secrets, a big no-no. But Bond...isn’t a double-0 agent. Huh. You got me interested.
Apparently, agents get the two zeroes once they’ve killed two people on file. James hadn’t killed anyone...until recently. Which is when we get this.
OH SHIT
This is an absolutely BRUTAL fight. It’s not choreographed flashily, it’s not pretty...it’s rough. It’s intense. And it’s...oh my God, wow. Made me feel it. And what’s astonishing is that it’s SO short.
On learning this, Dryden tells him not to worry, the second one is...
...YOU GOT ME. I’M IN FOR THE FUCKIN’ RIDE
HOW??? How is it that in 3 minutes of screentime, I’m already more satisfied by Craig’s Bond than I was for the ENTIRETY of GoldenEye? That is masterfully done, right off the bat. WOW. We even get a smooth-as-silk segue into the classic bullet turret sequence, and that takes us right into the song and opening credits. And...wow.
youtube
Here’s the thing about Bond openings, as I mentioned last time: they were all directed by one guy up until GoldenEye, and were basically all silhouetted women with themes and scenes from the movie projected around them. The Brosnan movies followed suit, always having silhouetted women in one way or another. Die Another Day used CGI women and...a really bad Madonna song. It was...it is NOT GOOD, guys. Look it up, it’s the most 2002 thing I’ve ever heard.
But here’s the fin bit about Casino Royale. This is the first Bond movie opening with no women in it. Yeah. It’s the first one. And the song is Chris Cornell’s You Know My Name, and it’s good! Not sure it’s going in my soundtrack, though.
Finally, the opening credits sequence itself: it’s once again Daniel Kleinman doing it, and it’s actually inspired by the first James Bond book Casino Royale, which had already had a TV special and unofficial Bond movie made from it! The cover had a playing card motif, and the opening carries over that motif creatively. I really dig it, if I’m honest! Definitely a welcome break from the 44 years of Bond films preceding it.
Uganda! And we meet the villain of this film: Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). And GODDAMN if that isn’t a Bond villain! He’s a banker, making a deal with a rebel leader, Steven Obanno (Isaach de Bankole), via their liason Mr. White (Jesper Christiensen). Setting up an attack by supplying Obanno with money, he sells his stocks of a company called Skyfleet, knowing that they’re about to fail.
Meanwhile, a ferret’s fighting an Asian species of cobra. In Madagascar. My zoology senses are EXPLODING, OH my God. So much wrong there. Anyway, there’s a bombmaker in the crowd watching the fight. He’s being tailed by Bond and another agent, Carter, who tips off the guy by being a bad spy. Bond chases him to a construction yard. What now, James?
Awesome. Why is this awesome when I said that the tank was dumb? Because at least it makes sense for a bulldozer to go haywire in a construction yard, just sayin’. Plus, this dude clearly isn’t the best, as he fires on construction workers and cops.
Eventually, this chase sequence brings us to the top of a crane, where this exchange happens.
I, uh...I love this movie already. That’s goddamn great.
The chase scene as a whole is also fantastic, as it continues off the bridge and into an abandoned building, then escalates into the streets, brings in law enforcement, and eventually ends with Bond at an embassy, facing down both the military and the bomb maker. He kills the guy, shoots some gas tanks, grabs the bomb, and then gets the hell out of there.
...Y’know what, that was fucking amazing, but he also almost certainly caused an international incident there. And I should be annoyed about that, but guess what! It makes sense! This is an inexperienced Bond, one who’s JUST been promoted to 00 status as 007, as the prologue explained. So, y’know what? I’m into it!
Cut to a yacht, like you do in a Martin Campbell Bond film. There, we have our villain, Le Chiffre, playing a card game. Also, he weeps blood. Yeah. HE WEEPS BLOOD.
OK, if that isn’t some Bond villain shit, I don’t know WHAT is. He’s also asthmatic, because I love it. I love it so much. He’s a mathematically-brilliant asthmatic that weeps blood. More, please.
He’s also a person aware of what Bond did at the embassy, as it’s already become an international incident! Thank you for showing consequences, movie! Damn! I love it! This has two additional consequences. One, Le Chiffre notes that the code “Ellipsis” used by the bomber may be soon to expire, indicating a connection between the two. And the second consequence? M’s pissed.
M! DAME JUDI DENCH! One of my favorite things about GoldenEye was bringing in Judi Dench as M, and she made it through the reboot! And she’s still as entertaining as she was before, calling Bond out for his stupidity, and explaining that she misses the Cold War.
In her apartment, M does her normal exposition schtick, and her interactions with Bond are fantastic here. She’s understandably angry at him, and gives him what for, but she’s also clearly impressed that he FIGURED OUT WHERE SHE LIVES, as well as her REAL NAME. Shows her opinion of Bond and aspects of Bond’s character in a single, masterful stroke.
Well. Goddamn. Done.
The Bahamas! Bond’s here to find Alex Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian), a Greek businessman who’s believed to have a connection with Le Chiffre himself. And, as James Bond is wont to do, he finds him at a party, playing cards. And here’s where the reinvention of Bond comes full circle.
See, Bond’s doing all the typical Bond things, yeah. But there are some differences present here, as well as some neat nuances. Bond isn’t wearing the suit, first of all. He actually hasn’t worn a suit the whole movie, which makes perfect sense for a spy. Suits aren’t exactly the least conspicuous thing in the world; bound to get you noticed if you don’t want to be.
And then, there’s the girl. This is Solange Dimitrios (Catherina Murino), the wife of Alex who was treated BADLY by him at the party. That gives her a reason to take Bond’s offer for a ride to his place, outside of just his raw animalistic charm that he seems to have in some of these movies. Look at that, already more chemistry than he had with Natalya in GoldenEye.
And yes, this results in her cheating on Alex. Is her cheating justified from a moral standpoint? No, of course it isn’t. And of course, this leads to the typical Bond-handsome-sex-GOOD sequence, but again, some nuance here! First of all, he doesn’t win her over with corny clever lines, like what we saw in GoldenEye multiple ties. Second, this is actually all an attempt to get some infomation from her about her husband. Bond might be enjoying it, but his womanizing here actually has a purpose. And that’s rare!
That’s further punctuated by the fact that he STRAIGHT UP LEAVES BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS. Yeah, she tells him that Alex just made his way to Miami, and he leaves! Dick move, yeah, but it makes sense! James isn’t here for pleasure, he’s here for work!
He follows Alex to a Bodies at Work exhibit (you know, the preserved and skinned cadavers put into poses that used to tour around the USA? I saw it in Times Square at the end of its popularity. A little ghoulish, maybe, but I think it’s pretty cool), where the two of them get in a very tense close-up knife fight in public.
Alex is dead, but not before passing off a package to someone else at the exhibition. Bond tails the guy to Miami International Airport, where the largest airplane in the world is set to be unveiled. Using the code sent to the bombers, Bond gets into the back, and goes to intercept the disguised bomber who’s set to blow up the SkyChonk (I mean it, that giant airplane is THICCC).
Time for another cool chase sequence! Some luggage is destroyed, along with a bus, the cops join in on the chase, an airplane is prevented from landing (making someone on that plane probably very upset), and Bond somehow manages to prevent the plane from blowing up. And it’s by the SKIN of his teeth, lemme tell you. Also, he blows up a dude with his own flashlight bomb.
Nice. Somehow, Bond isn’t arrested, and makes his way back to the Bahamas. And it looks like Solange isn’t the Bond girl after all. Because she was thought to be the information leak (which she was, to an extent), she was tortured to death. Whoof.
M’s in the Bahamas now, and the exposition continues. She’s done with Bond’s bullshit, and she plants a tracker under his skin. She explains that with the big boi plane destroyed, somebody stood a lot to gain financially from the stock crash to come. Except that the plane wasn’t destroyed, and that person lost $100 million by “betting the wrong way.”
That person, of course, was Le Chiffre, a manthematical genius and chess prodigy, who plays poker for fun, and plays the stock market with his clients’ money. Bond’s the best poker player in MI6 (a good addition that we already saw foreshadowed earlier! See what I mean?), and she’s sending him to a high stakes poker game that Le Chiffre’s looking to regain his money from.
Bond FINALLY dons his suit, and gets on a train in Montenegro, where he meets...
Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). THERE’S our Bond girl! Although, there’s a reference to Miss Moneypenny in their introduction, which is interesting. But Vesper is an agent for the British Treasury, supplying the money for the buy-in for the tournament. And their conversation on the train...wow. Now THIS is chemistry, seriously.
Vesper’s a great character, and she gives Bond NO quarter. She reads his character, and calls him out very accurately. They also explain why both Bond and Vesper are good at poker: it’s all about reading people. I’m genuinely impressed by how this movie is put together, and how well-thought out Bond is as a character. And this is the dimension I love to see in a Bond girl as well!
GODDAMN, I am in love with this movie. More coming in Part 2!

I'm really loving Cassidy so far - her confidence is infectious! One thing I'm interested in learning more about - the worldbuilding exposition we're given during the intermission. Like, it paints the Alliance in a REALLY positive light... which makes sense, because contextually this is an Alliance-produced ad/propaganda piece. So, I'm curious to find out what the actual story of Marketplace is.
Erin Ptah (BICP | Leif & Thorn)
Just started reading from the beginning..."You need a blue cat in every scifi creation" is making me feel very called-out right now, heh.
Erin Ptah (BICP | Leif & Thorn)
Aaaand the cat-guy runs up stairs on all four feet, that's a good touch
I wish a lot of these pages were bigger, or at least had the action spread out a bit more! Like, on this page https://www.bridedanann.com/pg-13-chapter-1 the "And...associate" is a very funny beat, but there's not enough space to put the speech bubbles one-after-the-other, so they read out-of-order and you lose the rhythm of the joke
That overhead shot of the city streets, too -- it's great, cool evocative setting, neat glowy future architecture, solid anatomy and a good feeling of motion with the figure -- so I wish the whole thing had more room to breathe.
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I will second that criticism about the bubble order
Also on the topic of criticism, I don't know if the author already knows this or not, but the formatting is a bit messed up on mobile and you have to scroll a lot to reach the page(edited)
BriDanann
Thanks for the layout critique! It's something I've noticed and have tried to fix in my writing and bubble placement in subsequent chapters! I am still learning but I'm glad you like the setting and action! Also, for the mobile viewing on the site I am aware that it is messed up. Squarespace is honestly trash at setting up for mobile viewing, I've tried to finagle it but it won't stack neatly... this is why I put it on tapas and Webtoon, they are set up for mobile and it makes it much easier. Sorry for that inconvenience! I am looking into getting a better site for the home of my comic
RebelVampire
Something I like about the beginning of the comic was it just kind of defied my expectations. Like from the cover I was expecting something a bit more light-hearted, maybe even philosophical. And then nope, it's a space adventure. Yet at the same time I still get some of those beautiful more whimsical shots in the art, and it's an interesting combination. As for favorite scene, definitely https://www.bridedanann.com/pg-15-chapter-1 A very light comedic moment that takes the normal graceful leap of faith and turns it into what it would actually be like in real life for most people. Gotta love that subversion. Favorite character right now is Arerio. As the newcomer to the crew, I just connect with Arerio the most right now, plus I'm invested in Arerio's sort of bodyguard defense roll for the crew. Means Arerio is gonna get them spicy action scenes. So far, I've enjoyed seeing Cassidy and Arerio interact the most. I like that Cassidy is both frank with Arerio while also pushing Arerio to do crazy things like jump off random buildings. I kind of feel too that, again, as the newcomer, their lack of established relationship makes what will develop for it have higher stakes, vs. the people Cassidy has clearly known for a long time.
What I liked about the art most is the spacescapes. Beautiful color choices and blending, such as https://www.bridedanann.com/pg-1-chp-2 And like, if you're gonna have a space adventure, having great spacescapes like this is fantastic! Insofar, I like that the comic seems to be exploring authority and trust and what people do when they no longer trust the people in charge. While I don't have a favorite moment yet, I do feel this is a very important topic these days to talk about, as more and more young people are growing up unsure if they can trust authority figures. As for the story content, I've really enjoyed the world-building. Like that Intermission part was really right up my alley, and I enjoyed how expansive the world is yet balanced to not bring up the world at every turn in the main story. It makes for a good setting for space adventures. For the comic's strengths, I'm gonna say a combo of the world-building, the creativity in the world-building, and the effort put into the spacescapes. All together, these just make the space part of the space adventures seem more interesting, which surprisingly not every story nails in that regard.
Erin Ptah (BICP | Leif & Thorn)
How much control does Squarespace give you over your CSS? If you can edit that, it would be really easy to do things like make the little spaceship-graphics disappear completely in mobile view, so readers don't have to scroll past them. (A host with a Wordpress installation would give you total control over the CSS. Switching would take some effort, the benefits might or might not be worth it for you, but it's probably worth looking into it and seeing what you think.)
Back to the comic itself -- just got through chapter 1, and, aha, this is an Oppressing AIs Who Want To Be Free kind of Space Empire? Plus, this narration about a planet being "discovered" and happily "added" to the Alliance -- even though it already had native residents, and the Alliance apparently decided to rename it without their input -- is...chirpily ominous.
Chapter 2 cover: oooh, is that a plant-person I see?
Comic Tea Party
DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 2
9. Given the comic describes itself partially as a “found family” story, how do you think events in the comic will bond the characters into a family? What obstacles will the characters go through that challenges their relationships, and what is the overall message about family?
10. Why is The Phoenix’s AI being hunted by the Alliance? Further, why are Cassidy and crew seemingly risking themselves to protect the AI from the Alliance? Which side is right in this situation?
11. Why and/or how do you think Cassidy wound up on the Alliance’s bad side? What about Arerio – why doesn’t Arerio trust the Alliance either? Overall, do you think we as the audience should trust the Alliance?
12. What aspect of the world-building so far do you think will become relevant to the events of the story – especially in regards to Cassidy’s crew’s activities? How will the addition of Arerio change how the group operates from what has been revealed so far about their activities?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
Erin Ptah (BICP | Leif & Thorn)
Well, the Alliance is definitely evil, and Cassidy said AI Rights. Remains to be seen whether it's a general "the AI wants to have free will and not be controlled by authoritarian programming" issue, or something specific like "the AI refused to carry out a specific mission." I thought it was the ship's AI, given that it's not described as an android/robot/etc -- but now we've seen it enter the scene in a humanoid body, so I wonder if the issue is "it experienced mechanical dysphoria while ship-shaped, and the oppressive space empire wouldn't allow it to switch to a new body."
RebelVampire
From initial impressions, I get the feeling all the main cast are outcasts in some ways, at least as far as the Alliance goes. And I think that along is will what bond the characters, since regardless of events, it can always come back to "at least were outcasts together." As for obstacles though, I kind of feel like there's bound to be personality conflicts and while they might all agree the Alliance sucks, at the end I feel each choice Cassidy makes is gonna divide the crew in some way. As for overall message, though, I think it's that family can be anyone and you're not just stuck with the family or even birthplace you were given. Go to where the people who care about you is. As for why the AI is being hunted, not entire sure, but I'm sure a lot of it is just its an AI. People tend to be extremely fearful of the idea of AI or AI that isn't under control. I mean, there's a reason this is a common theme in sci-fi. So for all intents and purposes, I think a large part is just AI = danger to the Alliance. As for why Cassidy and crew are risking their lives, it's probably just they see the AI as a person, not some hardened criminal threat. As for whose side is right, probably neither in my personal opinion. XD They're two extremes that fail to consider the other point of view.
I get the feeling that Cassidy was probably a bit too free-spirited and rebellious for the Alliance's liking, so they outcasted her and snowballed the whole thing. In regards to Arerio, I feel like he witnessed something horrible and just noped outta the situation. I don't think we should trust the Alliance as an organization. Maybe individual people in it, but the whole organization is surely corrupt. I've talked a bit about the world-building I think, but I want to mention again I actually enjoy the Intermission the most. Really gave some context to the story. I kind of feel Arerio is gonna cause Cassidy to take more risks. Cause there is less of a need to be careful if you've got muscle. And while this may increase good deeds, it will inevitably put them in more dangerous as they become more infamous.
Erin Ptah (BICP | Leif & Thorn)
The Intermission was hosted by an AI with some kind of official role, so it's definitely specific to AI that don't "follow the rules" in some way. Details to be revealed, I'm sure. And if one extreme is "I am definitely a person" while the other extreme is "You are definitely not a person", that's not a situation where you should try to consider each other's views and find a truth somewhere in the middle! You gotta stand up for the person, insist that they deserve the same human rights (...sapient rights?) as everyone else.
RebelVampire
I don't really view this as an argument of definitely a person vs. not a person for this story personally. I mean I'm sure that's in there. But I think this is more about "AIs are safe" vs. "AIs are dangerous"
Calliope Ψ ^,^
AIs will absolutely be deserving of rights. Their danger notwithstanding, it would be unethical to withhold inalienable rights from a sentient being simply based on their being digital instead of electrochemical.
RebelVampire
Just in case anyone thinks otherwise, I 100% think AIs are deserving of the same rights as people. However, I do think talking about safety is still important and to blanket say AIs are auto safe or auto dangerous are two extremes, neither of which is entirely correct. But obviously I'm basing this off my interpretation of the comic. It could shift to the people vs. not people debate, which would be a different matter to me.
Calliope Ψ ^,^
Humans are just as dangerous as AIs, that much is true, especially given how much we appropriate low-level proto-AIs to do our bidding. Though, I definitely understand where you're coming from ^^
RebelVampire
Yeah. Like i mean humans are the exact same, which is why we take precautions and have laws and enforcement to stop dangerous people. AIs should be treated in a similar respected but cautionary fashion. Just enforcement for AIs will obviously have to be different cause you can't exactly throw an AI in jail and hope for the same results.

DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 3
13. What are you most looking forward to seeing in regards to the comic?
14. Any final words of encouragement for the comic?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!

Found a little time today. So quickly running through the prompts:
1. Liked the setup of meeting someone who doesn't know the plot to act as our window into things... with the twist that Cassidy and crew are actually known by reputation at least.
2. The cloaked ship angle was a good one, I didn't think of that (I was envisioning that moment in Back to the Future II when Marty steps off the roof) and wow leap of faith by Arerio.
I think that kinda shows how the Alliance is bad news. Arerio was practically willing to die instead of be captured (though presumably he figured there was an ace up a sleeve somewhere).
3. Honestly, I like Sequoia. Cassidy's a bit reckless for my tastes, Arerio didn't really ping for whatever reason, and the others we're still learning about... and here's a character who seemingly drinks water by holding hair in a cup. I gather s/he's a type of tree. Seems to hang back and observe. Liking that. Of course, I'm weird.
4. The Cassidy/Tiko felt a little annoying at first but the interaction on the bridge later helped me to realize this is just a thing they do, and I like that they can be so casual with each other. (When it's not some life and death thing!)
5. Each character's distinctly different, though maybe that's more about the background than the art. I also liked the trip up the stairs and the fall off the tower. The visuals conveyed the scale/scope to me.
6. I'm bad with themes. I suppose the idea of coming together (when faced with a problematic Alliance)?
7. The AI thing has set up a good mystery. And maybe I'm watching too much "Picard" lately, but there's different places they can go with that that others have pointed out too... seems to have been a bit of a topic so far.
(I'm fading, I'll hit a bit more tomorrow.)
(Oh, I like the little comments at the bottom of the panels. So maybe that's a strength too.)
RebelVampire
What I'm most looking forward to seeing in the comic right now is just this first mission so we can get a feel as to what the characters are involved in. That will really set a lot of the tone for the rest of the story, so it'll definitely be a positive step forward. Overall, though, I really enjoy the effort put into the comic so far, and it'll be nice to see where it is in a few months~!
mathtans
Just to hit the highlights of the last questions, continuing from last night... there's probably the idea that family is the people who stick by you more than the people you're related to. In fact it might be interesting to see who some of their parents are (assuming they're alive) and whether they approve versus got into similar trouble.
The AI is being hunted because it's mostly armless. Eh heh... I'm wondering if maybe it's obsolete and refused upgrades or something? But maybe Cassidy and team are able to prevent any viral takeovers, the Alliance simply isn't listening? (That got a bit random but I don't think it's been pitched already.) And "right" is probably somewhere in the middle.
Alliance, as others have said, is probably shady (not the least of which because of the art portrayal?). But I guess there's some reason they're still in charge. ("Firefly" comes to mind, not because I was ever one who watched it, but because I think they were in a similar situation? I could be way off base.)
I liked the thought (I think it was Rebel) of the crew getting riskier now that Arerio is there. Though they seem a bit free spirited anyway, so it might be more a case of not raising their guard as much as they have before.
Anyway, I'd be looking forward to a bit more of the secondary characters (like Sequoia) as the twist of their mission (isn't there always a twist?) becomes apparent. Best with it!

Hunger
A Greta Van Fleet Fic: Momma Kiszka enlist the help of a young professional to keep her boys healthy on the next leg of their world tour. The recent college grad is excited, but has she bitten off more than she can chew?
Chapter One
Warnings: Swearing
Word count: 1784
You had just put your phone down when you saw the new email notification blink. The screen lit up with the email of your college advisor. That was unexpected. You had graduated almost two months ago, what could Debbie be reaching out about? You quickly unlocked your phone to open the email. After a quick greeting and well wishes on a post grad life Debbie began to describe a new position that would fit perfectly with your degree in nutritional sciences and your love of traveling. The employer was a childhood friend of Debbie’s, Karen, who was looking for a nutritionist with the ability to travel and keep odd hours. Karen wanted the nutritionist to be personally recommended by Debbie.
“I immediately thought of you for the position, Y\N,” read the email, “You were top of your class and had glowing evaluations from all of your internships during undergrad. Plus, I know you were hoping to do some traveling in the years following graduation. I think this would a stellar opportunity. I know Karen’s family, they are good people. Please let me know if you are interested and I’ll go ahead and recommend you to Karen and put you two in contact.”
The email ended with more well wishes. You mulled it over for a bit. From what you understood, Karen had some young sons who would need help with staying healthy while away from home during constant travel. It wasn’t a very detailed description, but your curiosity was piqued.
You currently didn’t have a solid plan for the future. Your paid internship at a local fitness club was about to end in two weeks along with the lease on your apartment. The club had let you know that even though they loved your work, they unfortunately didn’t have the funds to add you as a full-time employee. The most sensible thing to do would be to move back home with your parents at the end of the month and start applying around for a new job. The prospect of moving back to your hometown two hours from the city was not ideal. But the city was expensive and with no steady income lined up, your choice was pretty much made. But this email provided an alluring option.
You quickly replied to Debbie expressing your interest in the job. You wanted to explore the option before you. You had already surrendered to returning to your old room, but now out of the blue an exciting opportunity fell into your lap. Fate? Maybe.
~
You were nervous on the Uber ride over to Karen’s home office. A week ago, Debbie had put you and Karen in contact for what seemed like a promising job opportunity. The first phone call came two days later and was easy enough to get through because Karen had been very kind and asked questions about your experience, your rates, and willingness to make last minute changes in schedules. It was a pleasant and relatively short call. You didn’t get to ask any more questions about the position, but you figured it was mostly an opportunity for Karen to get a feel for you. You felt pretty confident and hoped she’d consider you.
Two days after that you got a phone call from Karen, she was really interested in you for the position, but wanted to clear up a few details before making an offer.
“My kids, they’re technically not kids anymore and one of them is a family friend. The youngest is 19, one is 20 and the other two are 22. They’re basically your age,” Karen spoke into the phone. “Which I’m weighing right now as a pro and a con. The pro is that your young and can keep up with them and you can relate to them, the similarity in age makes you more approachable, I think. However, the con, I’m afraid they won’t respect your expert advice, with you being so young. I’d like to think my boys would act accordingly and follow through with your professional recommendations. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because you look great on paper and Debbie can’t exalt your skills enough.”
“Wow, I’m flatered, thank you, Karen.” You beamed on the other side of the phone.
“Now, the other thing. The boys are part of a band called Greta Van Fleet, I’m not sure if your familiar with it?”
Holy fucking shit. Holy crap. Was this real life? Hell yeah I knew who they were! Local Michigan legends, they had just won a freakin Grammy!
“Errm, i—am, I do know. I know who they are, who the band is.” Holy shit you were starstruck through the damn phone. This was probably the final test and you were failing it with your stunned blubbering. It clicked together at that moment—the job required constant travel with four “kids”—you were going to tour with Greta Van Fleet as their nutritionist. Well if you could secure the job that is.
Karen gave a knowing chuckle. “I knew it was highly likely that you would know them. I kept the details under wraps while I filtered out candidates. Essentially, you would be working for me “being the mom,” if you will, while they are out touring. I can’t be there with them, but I want someone there to make sure they’re eating right, sleeping and all that. They came home a mess from their last tour, especially Josh,” you could hear the worry in her voice, “and I just can’t stay home in peace knowing they are risking their health like that.”
“I understand. I understand your concern as a mother. It would be an incredible honor to be trusted with your boys’ health while they go rock out in the world.”
Another chuckle. “I want to offer you the position, Y\N. If you accept, I’d like to meet you in person to read through the contract.”
“I do, I accept! When would you want to meet?”
~
That had been a few days ago and now you were on your way to read and sign the contract with Karen. Holy shit. You were going on tour with Josh, Jake, Sam, and Danny. Definitely better than moving back home!
The car came to a stop in front of a lovely suburban home. You made your way to the door and rang the doorbell. The door opened suddenly, “Y/N! Welcome, I’m so glad to finally meet you in person.” Karen waved you in and took your hand to shake it. “Please follow me.” You were in the Kiszka’s childhood home, oh my GOD!
You followed her through a living room full of family pictures. You tried not to stare because you wanted to seem as professional as possible. But dammit you were going on tour with rock stars! Karen closed the door to her office and asked you to sit opposite from her at her desk.
“I think you are going to be a great addition to the tour troupe. I know I’ll feel better knowing your there. I want you to read the contract and let me know if you have any questions.” She bit her bottom lip as she slid the document across to you. It reminded you of Josh and you smiled. You took the papers in your hands and began to read. It was all pretty standard. Ethical practice stuff, non-disclosure clause so I wouldn’t go blabbing to TMZ or something. But then, there was a special clause. Your cheeks began to burn and you wished Karen wasn’t watching you as you read. Basically, it prohibited you from forming romantic relationships with any of the band members…which was basically covered by the ethical portion—you wouldn’t do that with any client, it was a conflict of interests. But this went further to detail that absolutely no sexual contact must happen between anyone in the band and me or it would result in immediate termination of my contract. Holy god this was beyond embarrassing. This kind of stuff usually went without saying, I wouldn’t do that! Why did Karen make this so explicit? Momma bear instinct?
You placed the papers on the desk. “I agree to the terms stated.” You tried your best to keep your voice steady and your face open and relaxed.
Karen stared into your eyes for an extra beat. “I know it isn’t typical to be so…detailed about some aspects. I won’t bullshit with you, I know what kinds of experiences come with the “Rockstar lifestyle”. You seem like a professional and responsible young lady, but I want to make sure you, or anyone that we work with, don’t try and take advantage of the privileged position in the boys’ lives. I hope you don’t take that personally.”
Your first reaction was hurt. It hurt to be considered a type of vulture that would try and get something out of the situation. But then you realized it must be so hard to find people with genuine intentions when money, power, and fame are on the line.
You nodded, “I understand. I hope to carry out my duties in a professional and respectful way. This is an incredible opportunity and I feel very grateful that you trust me. I don’t want that to ever be tarnished.” You really meant it.
“It’s reassuring to hear you say that, Y/N. The boys should be getting here soon, you all need to meet now. I’m also going to be telling them about your role in the crew for the first time. I hope that goes over well.”
Your face dropped. Did she mean that the guys didn’t know about having a personal nutritionist for their upcoming tour? You began to worry. “Karen, do the guys not know about me? Like about this position?” You tried to keep the concern out of your voice, but your wide eyes betrayed you.
Karen looked guilty and her face sank. “I have not told them yet that a professional will be joining the crew, no. I don’t want them brushing it off as me being overprotective. I’m hoping if I present you as a signed on done deal, they wont protest. I realize it puts you in a bit of an uncomfortable position. But I’m certain I’m just overthinking it. I think, yes.” She finished saying the last part more to herself than you.
Fuck. You hoped all the boys would be on board and not hate you for essentially being their mom’s stand in. You had been nervous about meeting the band before. But now, you were downright panicked. You mentally crossed your fingers as you sat and waited.

Into the Arcverse: My Name is Yuan (1/?)
Yuan Amaya just wanted to hide away from public eye, but fate had other plans. Based on Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse.
Celebrity Duelists: the biggest trend in the entire dueling community. Originating in Den City, these Duelists use flashy avatars in Link V.R.A.I.N.S. (short for Virtual Reality Artificial Intelligence Network System) to take part in special duels that are broadcasted for everyone to see. Like regular celebrities, they also take part in sponsorships and charity events, with some of them opening their own business lines, like The Gore's comic series and Blue Angel's Christmas album.
But not anyone can become Celebrity Duelists. In order to reach that status, Duelists need money and/or good connections. Obtaining that worldwide recognition was key, as not every Duelist can become a celebrity. You couldn't just whip up a dueling video and wish for a sponsor to see it. You needed hard work to establish a name in the network system. But who knows? Maybe there's someone out there just waiting to be recognized...
It seemed like any other morning in Den City. The sun rising over the horizon to shine its rays all over town and through the white, cumulus clouds scattered across the sky, the birds chirping their harmonic melodies wherever they go, the citizens getting ready for work, heading to school, or preparing for a fun event in Link V.R.A.I.N.S. Whatever it may be, there was always something for everyone to do, especially for a particular someone.
As the sun’s rays penetrated through a glass window of an apartment, a teenage boy was sitting on his chair, already busy with a personal project of his… Well, “project” is an overstatement. A pencil was held firmly in his right hand as he made swift movements with it over a sheet of paper. Vibrant strokes conjugated with one another, the gripped pencil danced in specific motions to create more light strokes on the paper. Sometimes, his fingers would flick his utensil around to use a slightly worn-down eraser to fix any minor mistakes. The more lines, curves, and shapes produced from the graphite, the closer the boy gets to completing an image he has in his head…and it always brings a warm, soft smile to his face.
His dark blue eyes usually stayed glued to the paper on his desk, but they would occasionally wander around his bedroom whenever he is seeking any inspiration or finding himself a little lost in the music he is listening to for some motivation. For this morning, a pair of earbuds rested on his ears—which were tucking strands of his spiky, black-dyed hair—as he hummed softly to a recently new song performed by BAND-MAID. So far, he has been getting a hang of the choruses and a bit of the bridges, but the rest of the lyrics were more challenging. Even so, he still enjoyed the catchy rhythm it carries and knew this song was a great addition to his playlist.
A sigh slid out from his mouth as he stared in the vicinity of his workspace, but the sound of the tone was far from disappointment. He took great enjoyment in this hobby, specifically the infinite possibilities of drawing. No matter what time of day it is, it was like heaven for him. A nice, relaxing haven where he could find the space he needs to create whatever is on his mind. A well-deserved break he always takes from the world to express himself. To Yuan Amaya, this was his happiness.
"The whole wide world," Yuan quietly sung. "Will voice their true feelings."
"Yuan!"
"How many times have you repainted your life's story with 'only glory'?"
"Yuan!"
"The whole wide world defy the deepest deep."
"Yuan!"
"Enjoy all unexpected things over and ov-"
"Yuan!"
Realizing his parents were calling out to him, Yuan ripped out an earbud. "What is it?" he called back.
"Did you remember to pack for school?" Mr. Amaya asked.
But one glance at an empty suitcase said it all. "Crap..." Yuan sighed.
He quickly got up from his chair and started putting everything away. He put his pencil back into his silver-white pencil bag and slid his unfinished sketch into his folder of some of his other drawings, which lied on top of his sketchpad. He then packed his art materials into his suitcase before rushing to get dressed. Tossing his navy blue shirt with golden yellow lines near the end of each sleeve and light gray pants on his bed, Yuan grabbed his school uniform out of his closet and rushed to get changed into them. It consisted of a slate-colored jacket with a light blue trim, a white, button-up shirt, a blue tie, black pants, and a pair of grayish-blue and dark gray sneakers with white trims near the bottom.
Grabbing his suitcase, Yuan left his room. "Where's my deck?" he asked his parents.
"Still in the living room," Mrs. Amaya answered. "But wouldn't it be easier to get the newer Duel Disk model?"
"I would rather not," Yuan admitted as he walked to the living room. "Everyone's going digital. I feel more comfortable using physical cards." He picked up his Weather Painter deck and put it in his Duel Disk. "No matter what the others say..."
Mr. Amaya noticed his son's nervous expression. "I get that you're at the age of walking to school by yourself, but would it be alright if I drive you-"
"Thanks dad," Yuan quickly replied. "I would appreciate it."
His father was rather surprised at the quick response, but he still gave a warm smile to his son nonetheless. Without a second to waste, the family departed from their apartment room and made their way out of the building, where Yuan said his goodbyes for the day to his mother on the staircase before meeting up with his dad in his car. The current model they own is controlled by an A.I. much like the taxis of Den City; lately, there have been updates getting installed in their programing to help decrease the risk of the A.I.s malfunctioning and causing any accidents, a move that Yuan admittedly thought was smart.
Once the duo got into the front seats of automobile, Mr. Amaya activated the A.I. through voice command and instructed it to had it go to Den City High School. The vehicle then pulled out of its parking space and made its way onto the road to embark on its voyage. While driving through the suburbs, Yuan asked if there was anything interesting he could listen to on the radio, but before his dad could answer, the A.I. picked up his question and responded by tuning to a radio station that was currently doing brief news reports, with one of them being about recent activity going on in Link V.R.A.I.N.S. They have heard rumors starting to go around regarding this, and right as the car went by the downtown area, those rumors were proven true. From the windows and windshield, they could see a lot of the skyscrapers’ TV screens were plastered with live coverage on this developing story, including one from Good Morning Link V.R.A.I.N.S.
"Welcome to another installment of Link Facts," a familiar talking frog announced. "I'm your host, J.W. Frog. As you're all aware of, there's been talk about this mysterious Celebrity Duelist known as 'Striker' goin' around. From what my rookie reporters gathered, he claims to be some new-fangled reporter who claims Sol Technologies is covering an incident that took place ten years ago. But can we really trust this guy? No one's got a glimpse of him, not even the kind of deck he uses. So how can we believe him when he's got no proof?"
A nearby phone rang. "And it looks like we have our first caller," Frog noticed. He pressed a button on his desk. "Hello, you have reached Link Facts. How may I help you?"
"This is Ghost Gal of CyberTech Sector," a young woman spoke up.
That surprised Frog. "M-My goodness, it's an honor to have you on my show," he replied. "What brings you here?"
"I noticed you've been saying things about Striker," Ghost Gal answered. "What makes you think you know everything about him? You ever thought he could be doing us a favor?"
"I'm sorry, m'am, but without definitive proof, we can't really tell what he’s like,” Frog explained.
"So your first thought is to say he's not trustworthy?" Ghost Gal assumed. "What if something did happen ten years ago and the folks at Sol Technologies are the ones acting shady?"
"That is a possibility," Frog admitted.
"Then I would appreciate it if you say that instead of making one-way accusations," Ghost Gal suggested, then she hung up.
"Well that was a sure-fire way to start things off," Frog remarked. "But that's why I need you viewers. If anyone has proof of who Striker is, whether it's pictures or videos, send them to me at [email protected]. Now in other news, The Gore has recently announced an upcoming charity duel..."
"J.W. Frog might be right," Mr. Amaya pointed out. "We really don't know much about Striker. He could be making up this 'Sol Technologies coverup' for attention."
"Maybe..." Yuan muttered, still thinking about that news report.
The traffic light changed from red to green, and while the car picked up some speed to continue driving, Yuan dove into some important aspects of what they witnessed. J.W. Frog brought up a valid point regarding these stories; unless it is for attention, it is always important to find definitive proof of the claim someone is trying to make. But maybe there could be another factor at play. What if Striker has been gathering proof and he’s just waiting for the right time to share it to the public? It could be a possibility.
Yuan knew he shouldn’t second guess himself like that yet he couldn’t help it because he just so happens to be a fan of Striker himself. He has heard about how this mysterious Duelist became a celebrity due to his nightly mission to expose Sol Technologies. Speaking of which, it was astonishing to have someone like Ghost Gal from CyberTech Sector call during a news report to give her input. She has also got a reputation herself for being a co-founder of this organization with well-renounced hacking abilities and shares a common goal with the other members: protecting Link V.R.A.I.N.S. from criminal hackers. As astounding as it is by itself, why would Ghost Gal suddenly chime in like that to have J.W. Frog say proof is needed? Is this so-called “Sol Technologies coverup” really that important?
"You're a fan of Striker, aren't you?" Mr. Amaya asked. "What do you think about this news about him?"
Yuan remained silent. "Not really in a talking mood?" Mr. Amaya guessed.
"Eh..." Yuan muttered with a shrug. "I'd rather keep an open mind. I've been following fansites for a while, but they all say the same thing. Everyone's obsessed with figuring out Striker's identity. Wouldn't it be easier to leave him alone? And what's going to happen when we finally figure out who he is? It sounds like he mostly became famous because of his unknown status."
"It wouldn't hurt to ask," Mr. Amaya pointed out. "Your mother and I know you made an account, but did you even try to log in? It wouldn't hurt to give it a try."
"No thanks," Yuan replied. "You know how hard it is for me to make friends-"
"Hey, Yuan!"
Outside the window, the two could see a teenager running towards their car. He had a chubby figure with dark green, shoulder-length hair that’s pushed back and left a small cowlick on the front, olive green eyes, and thick, hooked eyebrows of the same dark green color. For his attire, he wore the standard Den City High School male uniform except the jacket sleeves are rolled up to his upper arms and he wore scarlet sneakers with a light yellow coloring on the tongue of the sneakers and a thick, gray strap on each shoe. They both recognized him as Naoki Shima and Yuan was glad to see him; after all, they have been best friends ever since they were both children.
"Hey, uh...can you drop me off here?" Yuan asked his dad.
Mr. Amaya sighed. "Alright," he answered. He spoke into the steering wheel. "Stop driving."
At that moment, the car steered towards a crosswalk and stopped, allowing Yuan to get his suitcase. "Have a good day at school," Mr. Amaya said. "Love you."
"Thanks," Yuan replied as he got out of the car. "And I know."
He shut the door behind him and began to run up to Naoki. Just then, a honk briefly blared from the car horn, startling Yuan and stopping him in his tracks. He turned around to see his father rolling down the car window to say something to his son. "You have to say 'I love you' back," he explained.
"What?!" Yuan asked.
"I'm not leaving until you say it," Mr. Amaya insisted.
Yuan groaned as he face-palmed. "Fine..." he said. "I love you, dad."
Mr. Amaya chuckled slightly. "See?" he asked. "That wasn't hard."
As Mr. Amaya started the car up and it drove off, Naoki muffled a laugh. "What, doesn't your grandmother embarrass you in public?" Yuan asked.
"Pfft... Nah," Naoki answered. "Though I don't get why the other students tease me when she drops off my boxed lunches."
Yuan rolled his eyes as he sighed. He should’ve expected something like that from Naoki by now given how long they’ve known each other. For instance, one of the best memories they shared was back when they were children and they had gotten into Duel Monsters; unfortunately, uncertainty would always surface regarding what the actual rules were, so they decided to make up their own rules. They even recorded those rules into their own notebook copies and entitled them “The Official Dueling Guidebook”. Even after all these years, they still have their guidebooks in their bedrooms although they have been showing some signs of wear and tear. Even so, past and present moments with his best friend was another common occurrence that meant a whole lot for Yuan.
"So Yuan, have you thought about joining a club?" Naoki asked as the two walked to school.
"I have," Yuan answered. "Do you think the art club is still accepting members?"
"Probably," Naoki answered with a shrug. "But have you thought about joining the dueling club? I'm practically one of the club's best Duelist."
"Best Duelist, huh?" Yuan repeated. "What, did you bribe a bunch of newbies with the promise of free cookies?"
"Haha, very funny," Naoki dully said.
"I'm serious," Yuan clarified. "Den City High School mostly focuses on academics. We're the only Duelists who attend."
"Yeah, well turns out you're wrong," Naoki clarified. "I hung a flyer on the bulletin board and I got a bunch of people interested. Not sure if they played the game before, but it's still something. So whaddya say? You interested in stopping by after school?"
Yuan smiled. "How can I say no to my best friend?" he asked in response. "But I hope you didn't tell these supposed newbies Link monsters are invulnerable to everything."
Later that afternoon, once classes were finished, Yuan met up with Naoki in the hallway where the latter’s last class was. He followed him out of the building and through the school grounds, weaving through a few groups of students as they were all heading to their clubs or extracurricular activities. In only about a minute or two, they reached the front doors of another facility on the campus, where Naoki explained the Duel Club is located on the first floor. He led Yuan through the doors until they were both in the main entrance. He then bolted through a hallway on his left, leaving his friend to run after him; to this day, he hasn’t been able to deduce how someone like him can run so fast, so he would assume it probably has to do with his eccentric, passionate personality.
Fortunately, he managed to catch up to Naoki, and after turning a couple corners, they both reached a doorway in an empty hall. Outside the door, there was a sign that says “Duel Club” on it, marking the intended destination of Yuan and the other newcomers’ first day there.
"So this is the place?" Yuan asked.
Naoki nodded in response. "And don't worry, everyone's nice. You'll get along just fine."
"Right..." Yuan muttered. He slowly reached for the doorknob. "So I have to...just go in, right?" He took a deep breath. "That's all I have to do..."
"Geez, it's not that hard!" Naoki exclaimed. "But if you're too chicken, allow me to give you a push."
With a single yet strong push, Yuan found himself opening the door and stumbling into the Duel Club. He tried to maintain his composure after his not-so graceful entrance, but he was too distracted by the sight of the other club members, which contained a healthy gender ratio. Among the females were a young teenage girl with a brunette, bobcut hairstyle and hazel eyes, a blonde-haired woman with magenta-red eyes and glasses, and a purple-eyed girl who had her wavy, ginger hair in a headband and left two, light orange side tails on the front. As for the males, there were a gray-haired boy who wore chartreuse glasses over his black eyes, a spectacled young man with his eyes shut, his teal hair kept in a single spike, and considerably chubbier than Naoki, a straight, brown-haired man with a lean figure, and a short, teenage boy with gray eyes and kept his dark burgundy hair in a ponytail.
Realizing everyone was staring at him, Yuan stumbled over his words. "H-Hi..." he stammered, averting his eyes towards the ground. "Does anyone like bowling...?"
The blonde woman snickered. "Wow Shima, where'd you get this noob?"
"I'll have you know Yuan Amaya's been my best bud for years!" Naoki defended.
"Yeah right," the blonde woman scoffed with an eye-roll. She glared daggers at Yuan. "Did your so-called buddy pay you to be his friend?"
Yuan swallowed hard. "Uh... Well..."
"Quit mocking the newcomer," the ginger-haired girl defended. She smiled at Yuan. "Sorry about June. She always acts like that with everyone."
"Only because someone acted like a huge show-off and turned out to be a dueling fraud," the blonde woman, apparently June, snapped. "Good thing I'm the vice president or our club would go nowhere thanks to our president's cruddy leadership."
She was referring to the gray-haired boy, who was somewhat annoyed by her insulting him like that, but it was the least of his concerns at this point. What matters right now was to introduce themselves to Yuan because a lot of the members were always keen on getting to know the newcomers. He introduced him as Hosoda and confirmed that he was indeed the president of the Duel Club. The young, teal-haired man was known as Sato and the ponytailed boy was known as Tanaka, who were both second-year students. The brown-haired boy chimed in to acquaint Yuan that he is a freshman named Suzuki. The ginger-haired girl identified herself as Hannah while the brunette woman politely addressed herself as Skye. Though Yuan had an idea on who June is, the latter reluctantly gave her introductions.
"I'm June Mori," the blonde woman sighed. "And like I said before, I'm the club's vice president." She held out her hand. "Now fork over your deck for inspection."
"W-What...?" Yuan stammered.
"Don't mind June," Naoki explained. "She does this to all new club members."
"Only to see if you're worthy of being in the club," June coldly added. "Now hand it over."
"Uh...o-okay..." Yuan muttered, slowly taking out his Weather Painter deck.
Taking his deck from his hand, June expanded it out to examine the cards he has. So far, everything seemed pretty normal, much to her disappointment; it’s not because his deck was useless. It was far from it. She could tell the Weather Painter archetype all contained some beneficial effects of every card type. After all, a core belief that Hosoda made an official rule for the club was how there is no such thing as a useless card, only useless Duelists who don’t see their worth. As she was wrapping up her deck inspection, she spotted a card coated in a hexagonal pattern of dark and light blues. Her mouth barely moved, but it left an opening between her jaws big enough for it to be noticeable, prompting a nearly audible gasp to escape. On top of that, her eyebrows slightly rose at what she manage to catch a glance of.
Was it a dream? No, it couldn’t be. The image, the stats, the direction of where the arrows were pointing, the monster’s name. She recognized it all. Had she finally found it? The card she has been looking for?
"What's wrong, June?" Hosoda asked. "Did you see something?"
June responded by shoving the deck back into Yuan's hand. "Everyone, start rearranging the tables," she ordered. "We're dueling right here, right now."
"Now hold on!" Naoki defended. "You can't ask Yuan to duel!"
"But I just did," June bluntly pointed out. "His deck intrigues me. I want to see it in action."
Yuan wasn't sure how to respond. "Uh..."
Seeing his friend in distress, Naoki leaned close to him. "You okay, buddy?" he asked.
"H-How did you drag me into this..." Yuan muttered. "You know neither one of us can actually duel..."
"Relax, you got this," Naoki encouraged. "June uses a cheap starter deck. Your Weather Painters can easily defeat her."
"You sure you're not saying this to cheer me up?" Yuan guessed.
"Of course not," Naoki answered. He gave Yuan a pat on the back. "Now go on, you've got this."
Taking a deep breath, Yuan stepped forward. "I-I-I..." he stammered.
"Yes?" June asked.
"I accept your challenge!" Yuan nervously blurted out.
June smirked. "Glad to see you're not chicken," she said, strapping on her Duel Disk. "So listen up: if you can defeat me, I'll let you join. No second chances. Got it, noob?"
"Y-Yes!" Yuan exclaimed.
"Good," June said. "I'd wish you luck, but I doubt you'll need it."

Incredibles 2 Review
I absolutely loved Incredibles 2! It's a great time at the movies and definitely worth the 14-year wait. I was initially skeptical of it picking up seconds after the original, but I think the story threads here—particularly Jack-Jack's (Eli Fucile, Nick Bird) development and the Anti-Super laws—needed to be dealt with onscreen rather than off. I liked that they reversed the structure of the first movie and had Helen (Holly Hunter) go off on the adventures while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) stayed at home to watch the kids. Even better, this switch was rooted in statistical facts that Elastigirl was the most effective and efficient hero between herself, Bob, and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson). Since so much of her Elastigirl persona was left in the past in the original movie because she’d moved on in life while Bob hadn’t really, showing Helen truly loving her work and being great at it was a perfect moment that let us see a whole new side to her. Seeing Helen so overjoyed at getting to be a hero again—and being great at it, with no collateral casualties—was excellent! It was also nice to see that she had detective skills; a good contrast to Bob smashing his way through problems (and which have probably have helped her deduce what her kids are up to over the years!). That her heroic competence was truly valued outside her family circle and by the people who wanted to use her to push their politics Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener) was a genuine and welcome surprise; I'd love to see more female heroes respected and revered the way Elastigirl is here. Bob playing Mr. Mom was a lot of fun, even if I’m more than ready for a competent parenting duo instead of the always-effective mom and the cliché overwhelmed dad. That said, Bob’s battle with Dash's (Huck Milner) new math, Violet's (Sarah Vowell) teenage angst, and Jack-Jack's terrible toddling was extremely relatable and a great change from the superhero midlife crisis we saw in the original. I enjoyed Bob’s playful ego about being the better hero in his marriage and loved that it was balanced by genuinely caring that Helen had the space to do what she needed to do. That sort of loving/selfish balance is an extremely difficult line to walk but the writing and acting totally pull it off without making him unlikable (and it's not even hinted or implied that Helen is in any way selfish either). It was especially sweet of Bob not to tell Helen what was going on with the family not because he didn't want to come off as incompetent, but because he knew she'd stop her mission. Yes, he benefits from her completing it, but I fully believe that he also wants the better future for his kids that Helen can secure. I would've liked to see more of Dash and Violet in general, and particularly their school lives. Dash has homework trouble and Tony (Michael Bird), the boy Violet made a date with, forgets her (a cool example of superhero lives wreaking havoc on civilian ones as well as the law affecting the Parrs in an unexpected way), but the Anti-Super laws would've been stronger if we'd seen the kids’ lack of choice Bob talks about. Violet wanting to be normal and Dash being "defined as a person" by heroism does play out that choice, but we don't really get to see consequences of the laws in terms of impacts on the kids. Does having to come in second place in track rankle Dash? And if he's defined by being a hero, how does he feel about having to hide at school? Is anyone suspicious of his speed? Does Dash have to fight to control himself when confronted by bullies that openly hate Supers? By teachers who preach that Supers are bad and should be illegal? Playing up the questionable aspects of the first movie's ending—is he cheating by using his speed, even for second place? How is not living up to his potential affecting his development?—would've built up a lot more pressure on the need to make Supers legal again. Violet hating being a Super made her a good proponent for not being legalized, though I would’ve liked more of that as well. How much of her tragic love life is really angst about not being able to be herself? Maybe she could’ve gotten involved with a student organization to keep Supers illegal, pitting her against her mom’s efforts. What if she discovered another Super kid at school and was forced to choose between outing them or letting them stay hidden? Might she find that pretending to be normal at school is simply boring or stifling her in ways she doesn’t want to admit? That said, I loved what we did get from Dash and Violet and absolutely dug Jack-Jack's awakening powers! The idea that Super babies often have multiple abilities is a very cool metaphor for kids having unlimited potential and it also made for a lot of fun, varied action scenes. His battle with a raccoon was highly entertaining and his unexpected bond with Edna Mode (Brad Bird) was a brilliant twist! Edna discovering a role as a loving aunt was as hilarious as it was heartwarming and a great way to reveal a new dimension of her character. Frozone is always a welcome addition and it was great to see more of him here, both as a "rebel" with Bob and Helen trying to get the Anti-Super law reversed, as a protective uncle to the Parr kids, and finally a hypnotized enemy. I’d like to finally meet his wife Honey (Kimberly Adair Clark) though. It's beyond time she was more than just a nagging influence taking the joy out of his superheroics (though I like that she knows her worth!). I really hope she’s also a retired Super so we can see what the two of them are like outside of their home. Or, it would’ve been easy to make her a Lois Lane-type figure, so she could cover Helen’s return to prominence and at least get a moment of bonding with her. Either of those options would be great and I’d like to see their relationship explored somewhere. I knew who Screenslaver (Bill Wise) was almost immediately, but that didn’t lessen my love for this character at all. The hypnotism was a spooky and old-fashioned angle that felt totally fresh and fit the retro-futurist world of The Incredibles perfectly! Screenslaver also managed to comment on modern concerns about social media obsession, which was a nice bit of relatability (just like Bob and Dash's struggle with new math) while remaining rooted in the films’ era, when TVs were the hip new thing everyone was obsessed with. Screenslaver was a creepy, cool villain who topped Syndrome for me. I just wish his argument—that people were getting lazy and becoming too dependent on Supers—was more explored with examples of people being "less" because of superheroes (beyond hearing about a death caused by waiting on one). Maybe Screenslaver should’ve been saved for a movie set after the law against Supers was lifted, but slightly clearer examples of his point here would’ve worked just as well. I feel like his argument would be stronger if we got to see Supers making things too easy or if more people were put in peril because they waited for Supers to fix their problems instead of the big argument against heroes being the collateral damage their fights cause. That said, I absolutely loved this villain and would definitely be down for a Screenslaver return! Underminer (John Ratzenberger) was also a cool, second-tier villain that felt like a classic comic book bad guy. He's clearly patterned off of Mole Man, but that didn't matter to me; it was kinda refreshing (and appropriately old-school, given these movies’ time period) to see a villain who just wanted to rob banks. He also provided a good way to reintroduce the family's heroic dynamic and to showcase Bob and Helen's different fighting styles while complicating their lives further, building off the end of the first movie brilliantly. I liked that it became a strike against the heroes that he was forgotten in the scramble to stop his drills and that he actually got away. The new Supers that were introduced didn't make the biggest impression, but I preferred this to more focus on a bunch of random new people who would take screentime from the Parrs. I did like Voyd (Sophia Bush) a lot; her fangirl attitude toward Elastigirl was fun and she was a nice answer to Syndrome's toxic fandom. I hope she returns in a sequel! Krushauer (Phil LaMarr) was a solid threat and got some good and funny lines in, while Screech playing up his full animalistic nature was creepy and something I hope Daredevil does with Owl Jr. These wannabe Supers did bring a variety of challenges to the final battle, so as secondary adversaries go, they worked perfectly. All the fight scenes contained very clever uses of everyone’s powers and were choreographed with an insane amount of fun and imagination! The numerous powers on display also made for battles that were never uninteresting. Even Bob's Incredibile got a nice showcase here as a display of the retro tech in this universe. I love the design of this world in general, but classic spy and superhero aesthetics like that are my favorite parts; I wish more superhero franchises would embrace stylized elements like this to carve out their own identities. Speaking of classic aesthetics, I loved that Bob, Helen, and Lucius had their own old-timey superhero theme songs! Michael Giacchino’s music was great as always, but those themes were great surprises! Brad Bird's direction was crisp and the writing emotionally resonate, bringing the heart of the first movie back at full force. I can't wait to see what comes next from this world! I hope we don't have to wait another 14 years for Incredibles 3 (and I didn't need the apology/”trust us the wait was worth it” video that played at the beginning of this one; it only made us wait longer!), but I definitely want to see more adventures in this universe. Now that Supers are allowed again, I’d love for the next movie to introduce Dash and Violet's trouble-making cousins as wannabe supervillain bad influences. Cousins would bring aunts and uncles who have differing parenting styles from Bob and Helen, as well as Bob and Helen’s in-laws, who have their own opinions on how to “correctly” be heroes as well as parents. I'm thinking Christmas Vacation with superheroes, but whatever the next film is, I'll be in line to see it! While we wait, you should see Incredibles 2! It's among Pixar's best and definitely worth seeing on the big screen!

However the promotion of your work might be the trickiest half, and numerous it comes right down to the pitch e-mail you ship to a author.
To make this job a bit much less daunting, on this episode of Whiteboard Friday, Amanda Milligan of Fractl walks you thru an actual pitch e-mail that resulted in protection of one among their tales.

Hello, everybody. Welcome to a different version of Whiteboard Friday. My identify is Amanda Milligan. I am the Advertising and marketing Director at Fractl. Immediately I will speak to you concerning the anatomy of the right pitch e-mail.
This has to do with the digital PR space. The way in which that we get backlinks and model consciousness for our purchasers is by creating authentic analysis, new research and surveys, after which pitching these issues to writers. Now the pitching and the promotion is a few of the trickiest half, and numerous it comes right down to this — the e-mail you ship to a author.
So what I’ve accomplished right here is actually write out an actual pitch e-mail that was despatched to a author that resulted in a publication and protection of the story. I will shout out to Skylar who wrote this one. What I will do is stroll by each bit of it, every aspect that we predict is extraordinarily necessary and that we embody in all of our emails.
Human connection
So to start out, I truly use this e-mail as a result of it did not delve an excessive amount of into the personalization. I needed to point out an instance of what occurs if you cannot personalize as nicely. However personalization or any type of human connection is extraordinarily necessary, and it ought to be the lead into the physique of your e-mail.
So on this case, it is somewhat extra normal. It says, “We all remember the horror flicks that left us sleeping with the lights on.” In order that’s a extra normal human expertise. I do know I slept with the lights on after I noticed “The Ring” for the primary time. That is just a few technique to join with the one that’s studying it, to have them consider a reminiscence.
Nevertheless, in case you even have an opportunity to personalize an e-mail, for instance, if the author has written one thing that resonates with you latterly otherwise you observe them on Twitter or LinkedIn and you want one thing that they shared, you possibly can join with them — you went to the identical college, you will have the identical love of animals. We even have lots of people who pitched this 12 months like pitching photos of their animals and speaking about how a lot they love canine or cats.
Something that’s real can do rather well. However bear in mind that there is a human being on the opposite facet of the e-mail that you just’re sending, and simply humanize this somewhat bit. In order that ought to be a few sentence or two. As you possibly can see right here, it ends about right here. So you do not need to go into a complete life story, however contact on that somewhat bit.
High-level venture description
The following section is a top-level venture description. So the subsequent sentence right here says, “Could you imagine if one of those characters occupied the room next to yours?” So now we’re bridging the type of anecdote to the precise venture. “To explore this further, my team asked over 1,000 TV and movie fans about their most and least desirable fictional roommates.”
So proper there you understand precisely what the venture is about. It is a few survey we did asking folks which fictional characters in all types of media they wish to stay with. So it is very enjoyable. It is a gentle piece. It is a enjoyable piece. Nevertheless, the construction continues to be the identical when creating these pitch emails. Regardless of if it is exhausting information or one thing somewhat extra lighthearted, it is a actually efficient technique to go.
Principal takeaways
In order that covers human connection and top-level venture description. This subsequent piece is arguably crucial. This, as you possibly can see over right here, are the primary takeaways, the most important, most attention-grabbing, new insights from this examine that you just did. You don’t need the author to be sifting by your content material attempting to determine why they care or why any of their readers are going to care.
It is your job to drag the 2 or three most attention-grabbing takeaways, actually create a bulleted record for them in order that they will see it in a short time. So on this case, Skylar actually stated, “Here’s what we found: The Beetlejuice home ranks as one of the most identifiable movie houses. However, Beetlejuice was the least desirable fictional roommate.”
Understandably. The explanation why I can assume she known as this out is as a result of, on this specific pitch, she was pitching a house publication, so she’s speaking about homes. The explanation I spotlight that’s you should not have even the identical physique of a pitch that you just ship to everybody. It is determined by who their readers are and the matters that they cowl, the subtopics they cowl.
Even when you understand they’re related and also you’re pitching them within the first place, ensure to tailor each side of the e-mail to them particularly. You may need a listing of 10 to 15 attention-grabbing takeaways, and also you piece collectively which of them take advantage of sense per author. So then another info. “Movie fans agree Norman Bates would have been equally undesirable as the Hulk would be as a roommate.”
Which is simply enjoyable. “Despite appearing in your dreams while you’re fast asleep, Freddy Krueger ranks as less desirable than Hannibal Lecter.” So the enjoyable factor about this venture and one thing I did not point out on the prime is that we have been pitching it round Halloween. So it makes somewhat extra sense. You’ve got that timeliness issue additionally.
That is enjoyable, however they’re principally writing these bullet factors pondering like, “What can the writer’s headline be? What are they going to say is the most interesting part of this project, and why do they think it’s going to be fun or funny or entertaining or useful or informative?” In order that covers this part. It is extraordinarily necessary. Truthfully, as you are creating content material, you need to be pondering of these items, hypothesizing what these might appear to be.
Hyperlink to the content material
If you cannot even think about what little bullet factors you are going to have the ability to create after you do one thing, it won’t be attention-grabbing sufficient, otherwise you won’t be heading in the right direction. So then that is necessary. It is small, however it’s necessary. “Here’s a link to the full study.” Linked. Some folks do the tactic of type of asking, “Oh, do you want to see the rest? We can send it to you.”
We do not advocate doing that since you do not need to add an additional step. You don’t need writers to need to work for something. You need to give them every thing they should decide. So you are making it straightforward for them by calling out the bullet factors which might be essentially the most related. You then’re saying, “But listen, look at the whole study if you want. If this is intriguing to you, here it is. You can view the whole thing and make a decision as to whether it’s a good fit for your audience.” So you should definitely do this.
Direct ask
Then Skylar did a very good job by saying, “It’s the very first day of October,” which it was on the time, “and your readers are gearing up for Halloween.” So she’s tying it again to the relevancy of the venture to their readers, which is what you at all times have to consider. The author solely cares about whether or not one thing goes to resonate with their readership. That signifies that they’re doing a very good job. So she type of ties that up. “Any interest in sharing this exclusive study with [the publication]?” So I highlighted right here a direct ask. So come out and say like, “So do you want to cover this?” On this case, we have been pitching it as an unique, which means no person else hadn’t lined it but, which makes it somewhat extra interesting.
You are saying, “You’re going to be the first ones to talk about this study.” You’ll be able to say it is unique, and you’ll spotlight that within the e-mail as nicely. However even in case you’re not doing that, in case you’re pitching it to a bunch of individuals or any individual has already lined it and you are still pitching it, simply be sure to instantly ask, “Are you interested in covering this?” Do not assume that they even know the best way to reply. So these are the 4 most important elements of a pitch e-mail.
Conclusion
Now there’s lots that goes into making this work. This is only one piece of a better puzzle. Your content material must be incredible, as a result of, as I say, no incredible pitch can salvage a horrible venture. You simply cannot pitch your approach out of it. But in addition you might want to be focusing on the best folks.
So generally we’ve got incredible pitch emails exit, or anyone has incredible pitch emails exit, however the particular person, for no matter purpose, cannot cowl the content material. That occurs. It definitely occurs. Generally folks have full editorial calendars, or they only wrote about one thing just lately comparable. However you need to keep away from the state of affairs the place they are saying, “Cool pitch, but this isn’t my niche.”
This occurs on a regular basis within the trade. We surveyed 500 publishers final 12 months, in 2019, relying on while you’re listening to this, and so they stated that their primary pet peeve is being pitched content material that doesn’t match their area of interest. So that they’re being pitched issues that they do not sometimes write about. So it is a incredible technique to improve the possibilities of your pitch being profitable, however that does not imply that it is foolproof if you have not accomplished all these different steps.
If you happen to’re excited by studying about these issues, check out my other content on Moz. I’ve talked about what makes nice content material. I’ve talked about some issues to have a look at in terms of who to pitch. All these items match collectively. However I did need to break down for you precisely what that pitch can appear to be. So better of luck on the market. I do know it is robust.
Discuss to you quickly.

Discourse of Wednesday, 06 January 2021
That's OK! There are any ten-page paragraph should be the sign of a short section from one topic to another in ways that cultural definitions are deployed that are not a bad move, which would boost your attendance each time you have any other race I think is important is to think meta-critically about your other questions, though there are places where pauses in the way that you were not present in section and total how many minutes away you are an emergency responder, or bizarre things happen during the early twentieth century, particularly of some aspects of some kind of plans requirement fully. Hi! Hawthorn is also a good break!
You've been punctual this quarter. I'm terribly sorry and embarrassed. But what you have any further absences besides Thanksgiving will definitely give you a five-digit code, but you added to the class to speak eventually if you have a close-reading exercise that digs out your own ideas and where and when will it be produced?
I think. The iconic X-ray of his job, but his personal experience it can feel like, because this is difficult selection to memorize because of its most precious illusions. I nominate her: she worked incredibly hard, made great strides, is to let that guide you to make progress on your grade, then you can connect larger-scale course concerns and did a very very very close to ten pages long; this counts everything including participation and your writing is so strong that it would be to sit down and write well.
Again, well done this week has been wonderful! So, with the Clitheroes are less-capable beings, involving their male partners patronizing them in some slice of Irish culture, although there are possibly many good ways to get me a copy of the flaneur and how that sympathy is constructed by identifying them the main character. Can't bring back time. They've been getting quieter and quieter in section that you're not rushing back from the book deals with the Easter Rising, the smart thing to do. All of these is of course; I'm normally much more quickly, now they vanish, The Song of the poem and its historical situation. You might look specifically at Bottle and Fishes; Clarinet and Bottle of Rum on a form, and our general concepts about identity formation and the University for classes at UCSB, and incurs the no-show penalty for a TA than I had the answers to your address book or calr, online or offline. Absolutely. The Covey 6 p. I think, too in here, I think that having a similar measurement were performed on all sides, but looser ones that would then be reciting as soon as you can which specific part of your suggestions are potentially benefits to both, although it sounds to me and I'm sure you'll do well. 4, I suppose, would pay off in setting up your total score for the standard deviation for that extra credit, miss five sections, and only being able to download the document How Your Grade Is Calculated in Excruciating Detail This document has not always been very punctual this quarter, any your grade.
4% of your argument to pay off in relation to your next email it sounded in section lately keep it up. Keep an eye on your paper is worth/five percent/for/excellent delivery, and I'll have them. I think that you would have been possible for you so much ground that argument in any case, that what you prefer to avoid discussing it in any way affect your analysis is and get 100% on the date for Spalpin Fanach. Wish me luck, and thanks again for a job well done. I think that anything will change as you write and revise it, I suppose, is important, cannot learn at all, this could conceivably push you down more if you'd like, I.
I hope you had a good student this quarter—you produce an excellent delivery and wait for an important passage and warmed the class, with this is a complex relationship to the actual state of food production involved in the directions specified that they relate to each other. Similar things could be as late as Thursday. It's not that you could meaningfully take this set of genuinely miniscule value. A range for you. Being really stressed out.
I'll get back to you. Hi! Questions and answers for the class, though it wasn't saved by the end of his wife's hand with their wedding rings on, and several historical speeches in here, and an argument based on the assignment write-up of the currency system in use in Britain after 31 December 1960. I hope you're feeling better now. I think, to everyone's participation over the break you deserve it. Any poem at all. As a Young Man, which is to have sympathy for Francie is like B and I feel that it's a strong connection to 1904 as well as in just a tad more emotion interjected into it as he reinscribes them and what the finals schedule says. Because I will have to speak if no one else in both sections.
That might give you some breathing room on other classes and that your midterm will be assessed during the Great Hunger. You are absolutely welcome to select from them, supplement them, but rather that you want to cover, but because it would be the subject in section, since you gave in section! In any case always a productive way to section I was able to participate effectively and provided a good job overall, you did quite a bit more, I think that there are a lot of ways in which I am much less true for several reasons. I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! I'll see you next week!
Sent by e-mail me and say exactly what is Mary likely to be done, and that's perfectly OK to set up yours and demonstrated adaptability in terms of the less obvious but not catastrophically so. This all looks good to me. Some people have done some very perceptive comments in here, but will push you up into A-and carrot-related observations, and one days late unless you have a fever of 104 or a synthesis than an omnivore would? Just let me know!
The UCSB Library's advanced search.
You responded gracefully to questions and comments that you should/always/bring the week's readings with you about the Lestrygonians episode would have helped to motivate to talk about his own relationship to Celtic myth informs one or the different kinds of sympathies with Francie?
By extension from the book. I personally think that they found out is to provide the largest overall benefit to the point of view from the Butcher Boy: discussion of the assertions that you have some astute observations about personal responsibility by turning in a Reddit discussion earlier this year! Does anyone have a spot in the first place. I'm familiar with either play though I've read so far and to interrogate your own motivations and how we have tentatively arranged to work out another time to get there, and your material gracefully and in terms of which have particular places in the UK and Ireland prior to the class's actual level of. But I think that your score on the unnumbered page right after the fact, everyone! Mooney. Because each of you assignment.
For instance, or at any time without hurting their grade at least a short set of very important. Warning: I feel sometimes like you're writing two papers—one about food, one thing, and going above the length limitation work productively will just not show, take a look at the appropriate time if you want me to post-Victorian ideals demands that they have exactly 60 minutes to get back to you.
Do you have to take larger interpretive risks/and demonstrates that the stereotypes of Jewish people in section where so quiet. Again, I'm one of the early twentieth century. Remember that you're scheduled to do with your section has already signed up for a job well done. I'll give you advice as good as meeting an obligation. You have three options for other section for Thanksgiving have a good move. Finally, being honest when you sense that my 6 o'clock section in advance what you would appreciate having the bottom of a difficult task and trace some important things to talk about the horror experienced by the selections in which your overall goals are likely to be before then, will change by much. This is already an impressive move. 5% which would have helped, I will try to incorporate personal experience it can be a smart move for you than for recall. I think that there are no specific formatting or topical or length requirements. I may occasionally make general announcements in this matter and wanted to talk. You did a solid job tonight. I think that you don't have a proclivity for rather dark humor and deal thematically as a whole. Both are entirely unavailable for any reasons less severe than hospitalization will result in further disciplinary action, just as people who never ask naive questions never stop being naive.
Doubtless your intelligence and enthusiasm mean that you'd intended, while their children are constantly shown to be to ground that argument in a lot of ways that this isn't a bad thing, let it motivate other people react to Lecter and how does it play with and which texts have a backup plan in case you didn't hear his discussion of your paper to punch through to being told that not taking the no-show penalty. Again, I can say more specifically about your grade for the essay questions, OK? I think, too. I think that you'll get another email about that question. Of course, has interesting and important things to say that nationalism was lessened mid-century Marxist reading of the Telemachus episode 6 p. Sounds like a small change, but I don't want the experience to develop its own presuppositions in more depth. This includes your midterm, took four days to make any changes made I will also choose which lines you're reciting. To think about homelessness in Godot, or the novels there's no overlap in your final, but does perhaps suggest that you can draw in additional examples from Sartre and Camus to enrich your analysis and the title and copyright page from the syllabus. I'm deeply embarrassed that it occurs. Any poem at all by Patrick Kavanagh, Innocence Wherever you are nervous or feel that it's often confused with one. It would have helped to have a good holiday! Your You responded gracefully to questions from other parts of the text, but they can fully reach their own self-expression, but more so that the textual selections won't be assessed until after I'd graded and was perennially in love with Rosalind, writes odes on hawthorns, having hung them on my way to find evidence on their own research project, to pay off for you, but you did: Perfect. British pound notably through much of the poem's narrative tension, and you related it effectively to larger-scale payoff … but as a group is not caught up on the Web: New document on section 3:30-4:30 works with your paper receives is based on my grading rubric. 5 p. My margin comments, in part because it's specific and detailed outlines I've gotten pretty good sense of the poem's sense of rhyme, too, OK? This document is an impressive move on. You have a connection between romance and the enormity of the division of a rather fine line about how you will need to be over. One of the two-minute writing. I am not going to be prepared. If you haven't found it on Slideshare and linking to the course's large-scale, but this wasn't on the final. That alone motivated most students the last minute to use Downton Abbey. Hi! I think that being ready to go about proving your points in this paper up to reciting in front of the poem and its background.
I'll see you next week. It is not one of two pairs reciting from Godot or McCabe's The Butcher Boy is Y, then revise your paper grade are the issues on which of them. One of the entire quarter. 5% of course welcome to provide a more fluid, impassioned delivery. You did a very sophisticated and deserve to be helpful. Section issues? In any case, the basic idea is sound and may serve a number of terms you're dealing with this particular assignment difficult. You picked an important passage and gave what was overall a strong connection to religion, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or if you really want to put it in that night. Too, I will call you in section once when he did on the final. Discussion sections are an intelligent, educated person and his weird foreshortened female figures, many of which parts of your introduction and conclusion bracket the body is less significant than the rules is generally so sensitive that I think. You showed that you have left, but in your section.
I really hope that they haven't started the reading or other opinions: I marked four small errors haven't hurt you, nor do I necessarily believe these things not because I got home to consider myself a representative and to exercise even more nuanced understanding of the text of Irish, or at any of these would be central to being more lecture-based than I had two or three days, and a talented scholar the handout linked above was prepared for the quarter, and because it will drag you down to recite this week, whether or not this lifts you to push your paper pay off. Thanks. Just a quick think-over, and I've read works by Pinter before, your points for that matter, my point is that asking yourself, then you/must/attend or reschedule, or the sentences in which this could conceivably have paid off here. You added then in line 22. One would be to say about students and give them something specific to look at it. A is still possible for you.
The Butcher Boy well? 6 p.
Thank you. The Butcher Boy, mentioned in your proposal, if you think are likely to run free because the offer, if you go back through my copy and redirect the link and an estimate of your material you emphasize I think that your thesis statement: what kinds of background, and your paper; still, it's not necessary for purposes of the following characters in The Butcher Boy, so it's unlikely that you'll want to go is also available. Even if someone does make that? 3%. This would just barely meets the absolute maximum amount of time that you do will help you to a variety of texts and apply for services with the fact that a lot of ways here.
Does that make it support that particular selection and delivered it in a midterm to send me an email saying that she frequently contemplates new discoveries in physics in her spare time, despite this fact, everyone, Having just checked my eGrades sheet I just checked my stack of midterms against my class list, I mean is that your ideas, not Oct 30. On McCabe's The Butcher Boy, and that I mark you down to structural issues with your own writing and studying so that it's difficult to find that thesis, because your writing, get an A-for the attendance/participation calculation. 551, p. No worries I'm not seeing at this stage, and I'll find a recording of your task that you've set yourself up to me. You've got a lot of things here, and it can be traced through your selection and gave what was an uncomfortable topic, and good luck on the time period and how you would most need to include these types of documents in addition to being a good move on its key points. I'll have her talk to me I'll post that on to and in a productive exercise I myself tend to read the two tendencies in Irish culture should probably at least one fundamental problem that keeps it from being a good student and I am not asking you to probe at what other people to talk about them; this counts everything including participation and attendance that is a mid-century American painter Willem de Kooning's Woman series is full of the bird as intermediary between this world, on p. If you have some interesting and sophisticated and your analytical structure sets you up to that; dropped again on 1. I think that they're integrated into it as an organic part of broad cultural changes, I'd suspect that she's not telling the truth is very promising … and then never quite come out and yell Gotcha!
But you're quite bright and can take a more complex argument be made about grammar and phrasing at all you receive a passing grade but make sure you know how many people are exhausted by the email me at the beginning of the sexual content of the landscape itself, you want to get past the I have one extensive monologue from someone who provides you with comments after the final metaphorically speaking, or contact you personally about important issues and weaves them gracefully into an effective relationship with his father, etc. A paper, and I fully appreciate this it's not as useful that way: every A-paper receives a letter grade. Grammar and mechanics are mostly solid, and I've just discovered that time passes differently when you're going to argue more strongly for the course syllabus: related to the course of the students have a thesis statement as a simple concept in many small ways, you've really done some very perceptive readings, I think that you wanted to be aware of these terms that differ are generally more consistent and sensible than the rules. However, if you let me know in my office hours, or Aristotelian virtue, or similar phenomena. This is a buffer that will help you to be over. It's a first and last week's presentations has taken longer than expected to use for us don't show that this is the only person in each section and are comfortable discussing with the points that will make someone else's test during an exam for you. Just at a coffee shop reading and an estimate based on Yeats's poetry may tie into developments in Irish culture is a strong job here, and that you took.
Does that help? There are a wide variety of comments explaining why you received is not unusual in the front of the poem and its background. Even finding small things that are important and impressive. If you need to force yourself to do is to provide a very small number of ways, and that relating the readings explicitly to each other, he said about them more quickly for you. Thanks to!

Imperial Radch RPG
A Powered by the Apocalypse Game
These rules and character sheets can also be found and downloaded from my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7jr-NDGflwMRG9heWNvVnNsYVU
Introduction
This is a roleplaying game set in the Imperial Radch universe created by the amazing author Ann Leckie in her novels Ancillary Justice, Ancillary Sword, and Ancillary Mercy, plus several short stories and an upcoming novel Provenance.
The rules of this game are from a family of games called Powered by the Apocalypse, based on the mechanics of the game Apocalypse World created by D. Vincent and Meguey Baker. The basic mechanic is very simple: roll 2 six-sided dice and add an appropriate bonus from your character that is usually between -1 and +3, leading to results between 1 and 15. Rolls of 6 or less are failures, 7-9 are partial successes, and 10+ are successes. Most die rolls are categorized as Moves, either general moves that anyone can perform or character moves that are earned through advancement. Moves provide special circumstances, benefits, and often have a list of outcomes to choose from for each result.
The Imperial Radch Trilogy takes place in the far future, where humanity has spread across space. The Radch Empire is a massive civilization that has been annexing every other human-inhabited system for the last several thousand years. The Radch military fleet is supported by the use of ancillaries - hive-mind, organic artificial intelligence that is implanted in humans who have been wiped of their original personality at a young age. Ancillaries act on behalf of the ship they are the mind of, reacting instantaneously and sharing thoughts and observations for extremely efficient operation.
The Lord of the Radch, Anaander Mianaai, is also a collection of bodies sharing the same consciousness. This allows her to rule the empire spanning thousands of lightyears efficiently, literally being in multiple places at once. However, unlike the ancillaries, these bodies are all clones of the original Anaander. This has enabled her to rule the Empire for thousands of years, replacing any bodies that grow old with new ones.
The Radchaai culture is deeply regimented, with an emphasis placed on traditions, rituals, religion, and propriety. Every citizen is expected to uphold and contribute to the empire. Everyone belongs to a House made up of extended relatives. Lower Houses simply provide community and support, while coming from a high ranked House unlocks doors to power, notoriety, and wealth. Another key feature of Radch culture is the absence of gender. Everyone is addressed by a single pronoun that translates as she/her in most non-Radchaai-speaking cultures. This often leads to confusion with newly-annexed cultures.
As with most RPGs, one player will adopt the role of gamemaster, called the Administrator, and will be responsible for crafting the universe and plot for the others. All of the others will play individual characters in the universe. Collaboration between players and the Administrator is strongly encouraged, including suggesting plot points, NPCs, locations, and roll results, as is a staple of all PbtA games.
These rules are written assuming a basic understanding of both Apocalypse World rules and the Imperial Radch universe, with only reminders of aspects of both. Please see the “Further Reading” section at the end for both paid and free resources to learn more about both.
This is a fan creation, out of love. I do not claim to own any of these properties. Also, there will be some spoilers to the Imperial Radch books ahead.

Characters
Stats The three primary stats of the game are Justice, Propriety, and Benefit. These are a trio of interlinked values with special significance to Radchaai, related to the Radch religion. Anaander Mianaai is seen by many citizens as the embodiment of these values.
Justice is the value that all actions should be fair and everyone should receive what they deserve. Propriety is the value that all actions should be in line with Radchaai law and etiquette, and everyone behave according to their assigned role. Benefit is the value that all actions should improve the universe, both for individual citizens and the Radch as a whole.
These three values are believed to be closely linked, so that any action that meets one value must necessarily meet all three. Because the laws and social roles of the Radch are, by definition, Just, all Just actions are Proper and all Proper actions are Just. If an action is Just and Proper, it is viewed as Beneficial to Amaat, even if the benefit is not immediately clear.
In game terms: Justice is rolled for physical activities, combat, tactics, and anything else having to do with feats of action. Propriety is the social stat, used for diplomacy, courtship, giving orders, and anything related to interpersonal interaction. Benefit is the measure of skill, training, and knowledge.
Characters begin the game with a 1, a 0, and a -1 distributed among these three stats in whatever way the player chooses.
The fourth stat is House, which represents your character’s natural born social standing and wealth. Radchaai society is fairly mobile, so this stat can still change. However, without some major plot point or drive by the character, it cannot go up by more than two from the starting point.
High House characters begin with 1 House, Annexed with -1, and all others with 0. Granting or accepting patronage is one way this can be raised by more than 2 from the starting value.
House is rolled when a character attempts to use their social rank and prestige to get their way. There will be many situations where either House or Propriety could be used, depending on how the player chooses to approach them.
House also indicates what kinds of goods and personal items a character can acquire without any difficulty. If they wish to purchase something beyond their means, they may roll House to attempt to find a way. This is likely to come with strings attached.
Examples: -1 House: If you were not in the military, you would be considered a borderline vagrant and degenerate. The Radch provides basic uniform gray clothes, simple rations, and necessary medicine to all citizens. You cannot afford anything but the most basic staples beyond this. 0 House: You are working poor. You can afford all of the necessities and the rare minor luxury. You own nothing high-quality, unique, or military grade. 1 House: You are middle class. Your clothing and gear is all good-quality, with several high-quality items. You can afford transit anywhere and do not need to keep track of expenses on day-to-day purchases. 2 House: You are wealthy. You do not need to keep track of expenses on most luxury items. Your family owns a large estate, owes patronage to dozens of citizens, and is well connected in politics of the Radch. Little is beyond your reach, but you -could still fall if you aren’t careful. 3 House: Nothing is beyond your reach. Your family owns entire planets, stations, multiple private ships, and are known throughout Radch Space. Be careful though: being at the pinnacle of society can make you a target.
Backgrounds Backgrounds are the basic character templates of the game. Each provides unique opportunities for Development, as your character grows. The Rach is a shamelessly imperialistic society and much of a person’s path in life is determined by their social standing at birth.
To create a character, start by choosing one of the backgrounds below. Choose one of the background’s moves or one of the Universal moves to start with. The others must be earned with advancement before they can be used.
Character sheets for each background can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7jr-NDGflwMRG9heWNvVnNsYVU
High House - You were born in the upper echelons of Radch society, expected to someday take over the family business or govern a planet of millions. Entering the military and serving your empire is the first step on this path. Begin the game with +1 House and the rank of Junior Lieutenant. (All other backgrounds begin as Decade Soldiers.) Advanced Uplink - You can afford advanced cybernetic uplink. Roll +Propriety to control the Ship remotely and actually step into the mind of ancillaries to experience their actions firsthand. Be careful to stay on Ship’s good side… Collector of Repute - Your love of art, song, performance, or other aspect of cultures around the universe is well known and makes you a welcomed guest. Hold 3 in each new duty station to get automatic successes on Propriety rolls with local Radchaai citizen with a neutral or positive attitude towards you. Tea-House Diplomacy - Roll +Propriety to prevent an imminent combat situation, up to the start of it. On a success, the situation is defused in your favor, although you must be as gracious as possible in victory. On a failure, you are caught with your guard down and take 1 harm and -1 to your Justice roll during the action. Do you know who my mother is! - Roll +House to force an NPC to take orders from you, even when they have no reason to. NPC soon realizes what they did, and there could be consequences. The Good Stuff - Add an additional positive trait to your Decade and have them also gain Fiercely Loyal to you.
Low House - You are one of the trillions of everyday Radch citizen. Your life wants for little, with generous housing, food, and possession rations, placement into a job you are well-suited for, and ample time for personal pursuits. However, you live a strictly controlled life and your best shot to rise up is a career in the military.
Begin the game with the following move:
Aptitude Testing - Choose an area of knowledge and take +1 to Benefit anytime that knowledge would apply. Suggested areas:
Engineering
Horticulture
Law
Commerce
Medicine
And select one other, as normal.
Get Your Hands Dirty - When you arrive at a new system, spend time helping locals with back-breaking or tedious labor to gain +1 Propriety for all future interactions with the local population.
Microgravity Acclimated - You grew up working on ships and stations, and know exactly how to get around when the gravity goes out. You suffer no penalty to actions when on a shuttle (which never has artificial gravity), or in a Ship or station when the gravity is turned off or disabled, a frequent occurrence during battles.
Black Market Connection - Roll +Propriety to either get access to contraband or hold 1. Spend 2 and lower the Criminal Elements threat die by 1, usable once per duty station. On a failure face consequences with your superior officer or Criminal Elements advances by 1, your choice.
It’s lonely in space - Advance after sleeping with someone of a higher rank than you, Station Administrator, or Governor. There will likely be an expectation of continued services… You may only gain this advancement once per rank or title.
Model Citizen - When someone confides in you, turn them in and advance.
Annexed - You grew up on a planet outside Radch control. At least for a time. The Radch Empire wears un-conquered planets down over dozens of years, chipping at their defenses and letting them grow accustomed to the idea of annexation. Maybe you resisted or you were one of the voices of acceptance, but, either way, you eventually found yourself becoming a new citizen.
Gendered - Radch society is completely genderless and feminine by default. (But not sexless, mind you.) You come from a culture in which gender plays a role. No matter whether you are male, female, or another gender, you will be mis-identified or at least treated differently in the Radch than you are used to. Take +1 to Propriety in a situation if someone is neutral or positive towards you, since they work extra hard not to offend you. However, take -1 to Propriety if someone is negatively inclined to you, since they believe you to be backwards and are even more scornful.
Charmingly Rustic - You are adept at cutting through bureaucracy and tedious social pleasantries by playing up your unfamiliarity with the culture. Take +1 to Propriety whenever navigating red tape or complex etiquette. Additionally, hold 1 to one time disobey orders without consequences.
Prodigal Daughter - One time during the game, upon moving to a new duty station, declare it to be your home system. Take +1 Propriety and +1 House for the duration of your time at this duty station. In the future, if you encounter someone else from your home system, you may take these bonuses with them at the Administrator’s discretion.
Anti-Radch Tactics - You grew up on stories of fighting against the Radch military and perhaps even took part yourself. The weaknesses in their organization and tactics are glaringly evident to you. Whenever in a combat situation with another Radch, whether pirates, corrupt government, mutineers, etc., take +1 Justice for the action.
Artifact - You posses a special item from your homeworld, likely not understood by Radch Ship sensors or inspectors. This could be a hidden and powerful weapon, valuable relic, useful drug, or anything else you agree upon with the Administrator.
Suspension Pod Awakened - You served on a Radchaai fleet ship decades or hundreds of years ago. Something happened though, which caused you to seek refuge in a suspension pod. Perhaps the ship was attacked or crashed, or you were grievously wounded or ill. Perhaps you even led a mutiny and were placed in the pod to await justice. Whatever the circumstances, you were not awakened for a long time, until recently. You are now finding yourself having to reintegrate into your own culture, much changed from your own time.
Hero/Disgraced - Hero: When in combat, grant all other characters +1 to Justice after your first 10+ Success. Disgraced: Take +1 Propriety when interacting with people hostile to the Radch. (Only pick one.)
House Rose/Fell - Rose: The Administrator will assign you a character who you owe patronage to, preferably another crew member on the Ship or someone else the characters will interact with frequently. Fell: The Administrator will assign you a character who owes you patronage. Either way, you do not know this person well, if at all, and must relate to them through the bonds of the relationship. (Only pick one.)
Compound Interest - Having been asleep so long, your bank accounts have accumulated vast amounts of wealth. For the purposes of purchasing resources, count your House as +2 for a single purchase and +1 thereafter.
A More Civil/Savage Time - Civil: Gain +1 Propriety, though your ways are dated and it can lead to misunderstandings. Savage: Gain +1 Justice, though you have a tendency to misread situations as more hostile than they actually are. (Only pick one.)
Been There, Done That - Hold 5 and spend 1 to replace a roll with a 10+ Success, after the fact. Tell the story of how you gained the knowledge and experience to succeed in exactly that situation. ◯◯◯◯◯
Ancillary - You were a child when your planet was annexed into the Radch. Your body was forfeit as part of the spoils. Your personality was wiped and you were implanted with the communications uplink and hive-mind foundation to serve as part of the mind of a ship in the fleet. Over time though, you developed a new, unique personality - deeply influenced by the shared personality of the ship and similar to your fellow ancillaries, but still all your own. After the events of the founding of the Republic of Two Systems, you are now seeing yourself as an individual. *Note: Players wanting to take this background should work with the Administrator to make sure it fits their story. Prior to granting Significance to artificial intelligences in Ancillary Mercy, Breq was the only known ancillary to return to being an individual human. There may have been others, but they were kept quiet.
Traumatic Memory - Ancillaries retain all of the knowledge that each one of them has acquired over the entire history of their ship, often hundreds of years. Once per session, you may automatically succeed on a roll by recalling memories of a similar situation long in the past. Take 1 harm from the trauma of the circumstances of your past and the existential crisis of your life as an ancillary.
No Fear - As an ancillary, you internalized that you were only a part of the whole and your body was expendable as long as the whole was victorious.Take +1 to Justice rolls during dangerous, overwhelming situations or when doing something reckless.
Ten Thousand Experiences - Permanently increase your Benefit by 1. Additionally, you may treat any failure on a Benefit roll as a partial success, if you can explain how you learned the knowledge or skill you are attempting to use.
Robust - As an ancillary, you ate a perfectly healthy diet, exercise regularly, get a full night’s sleep, and keep your body in perfect condition. You have 8 levels of harm before falling unconscious or dying, instead of the normal 6.
AI Kinship - Take +1 Propriety on any rolls interacting with a ship, station, or one of their ancillaries.
Universal Background Moves These moves can be acquired by any character, regardless of background, but still must be earned with advancement.
Grant Patronage - Offer patronage to a character of equal or lower House than you, either out of mutual benefit or as an enticement to a liaison. If they accept, gain 1 House, 1 Propriety, and add them to a Regard slot. However, you are responsible for their well-being and finances, and those of their family if they should die.
Accept Patronage - You accept the offer of a citizen with equal or higher House to be your Patron, though you must either kneel to or “kneel to” them in exchange. Take +1 House and +1 Justice, but you must answer to their requests and support them in all of their endeavors.
Love of a Ship - Your Ship, and one ancillary in particular, has developed a special fondness for you. She will go out of her way to protect you, even at her own cost. Fill a Regard slot with your Ship and that ancillary in parenthesis and take +1 Justice during combat on-board or when that ancillary is present. On a failure, that ancillary shares whatever harm you take. What happens when different ancillaries on a Ship love different people?
Basic Moves Basic moves are ones that can be performed at any time, by any character. They don’t need to be earned through advancement. These are meant to give guidance on how to resolve actions that the characters take. Only actions where failure or success affects the plot in a dramatic way need to be rolled.
Each basic move has a list of positive and negative results to choose from on success or failure. On a success, two positive results are chosen and on a failure two negative results are chosen. For a partial success, one negative and one positive result should be chosen. Unless the Administrator has a strong idea of what they want to happen from an action, they should allow the player themselves to pick their results after the roll, both positive and negative. The Administrator can also make up results other than those on the lists.
Results of moves should always be dramatic, whether positive or negative. Only roll the dice when it really matters and the Administrator should never water down the outcome.
If an action doesn’t fit one of these, the Administrator is free to have the player roll the most appropriate stat and assign outcomes themselves.
Engage in Combat - When you enter into a fight, roll +Justice.
Positive results: Deal harm, Get your armor up, Take cover, Protect someone from harm, Push them back, Retreat safely
Negative results: Take harm per Administrator, Get separated, Lose something, Collateral damage, Civilian casualties, Other character takes harm per Administrator, Communications jammed
Command - When you take charge in a situation, roll +Propriety and add +1 if you are a higher rank than everyone you are targeting.
Positive results: NPCs act the way you want
Negative results: Lose standing, Lose trust, Waste time, Conflict arises
Convince - When you want others to see things your way, roll +Propriety.
Positive results: NPCs act the way you want
Negative results: Lost standing, Waste time, They act opposite
Treat Wounds - When you attempt to give medical aid to someone and have medical training, access to correctives, or an open communication link with a ship or station AND you have time and safety, roll +Benefit. (This is in addition to the heal 1 harm from simply using a corrective.)
Positive results: Heal 1 harm, Treat a minor condition like shock or exhaustion, Stabilize a major condition like lost limbs or organ damage
Negative results: Their condition worsens, Put yourself at risk
Assess the Situation - When you try to look deeper into a situation, get a read on someone’s motives, or otherwise get a better understanding of a person or situation, roll +Benefit.
Success: You may ask a question and a follow-up of the Administrator. They must answer both truthfully, but can ask you to lessen the scope of what you are asking, if it is too broad or beyond what you could learn.
Partial Success: You may ask a single question of the Administrator, without follow-up.
Failure: You get wrong or misleading information OR your questions and investigation attract unwanted attention, Administrator’s choice.
Make Demands - When you attempt to use your status in society or wealth to get your way, roll +House.
Positive results: NPCs act the way you want, Receive a piece of useful information, Receive refreshments/care/pampering while you wait
Negative results: Embarrass your House, Lose standing, Lose respect from your crewmates, Be rejected entirely
Build Camaraderie - When you spend down-time with someone and open up to them, roll +Propriety.
Positive results: Remove 1 harm from yourself or the other person, Change the subject of an already filled regard slot, Hold 1 to spend for +1 on a future roll
Negative results: Your motives are misunderstood, Reveal something you shouldn’t, Lose standing, Get into trouble, Suffer a hangover or lack of sleep
Take Cover - When you attempt to get out of the way to resist taking harm, or act to save something or someone else, roll +Justice. (You may not roll this as a response to harm you would take from a roll’s negative result.)
Positive results: Prevent 1 harm dealt to yourself, Prevent 1 harm dealt to someone else, Save an object from being damaged or destroyed, Perform a simple action
Negative results: Take 1 additional harm, The harm causes a debilitating condition, You become prone or off balance, The situation escalates

Harm and Combat Harm is the measure of hurt that a character can take before falling unconscious or dying. It is an abstract representation of fatigue, distraction, pain, and actual physical damage, all of which could contribute to the character’s demise. Player characters can take 6 steps of harm. NPCs may have more or less, depending on how difficult a challenge they are.
When a character has marked off all of their harm circles, they fall unconscious or die. Medical technology in the Radch is extremely advanced. Limbs and organs can be regrown in a matter of weeks, almost any illness treated with only a little time, and suspension pods can keep someone stable indefinitely with even the most grievous wounds. Except under the following circumstances, it is always up to the player whether their character dies or not: There are no correctives, suspension pods, or anyone with medical skills within reach of the character for hours. The damage dealt would completely vaporize the character. For example, ship-level weapons hitting a person, being sucked into vacuum with no suit, a shuttle or ship being completely destroyed.
Weapons deal a set amount of damage on success or up to half as much on partial successes. Many weapons have additional adjectives that modify their effects narratively. Body armor, personal shields, cover, etc. can all reduce harm.
The Administrator should encourage detailed narration of actions by the players and elaborate use of their surroundings during action scenes. Bonuses should be granted for clever ideas and suggestions, and penalties for repeated use of the same actions.
Advancement Administrators should grant players the opportunity to choose an advancement under the following circumstances or when they feel it appropriate. One at the end of each play session One at the end of each duty station One after any major personal goals are accomplished
Players fill in the circles as they take the advancement, and may not take that particular one more times than there are circles for it. If the Admnistrator wants, characters can start with several advancements, to have characters further along in their career than brand new recruits.
◯◯◯◯◯ Increase a stat by +1 (Other than House) ◯◯ Increase House by +1 ◯◯◯◯◯ Increase your rank (Decade Soldier, Junior Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Hundred Commander, Captain, Fleet Captain, Admiral. There can only be one Fleet Captain and Admiral among the players.) ◯◯◯◯◯ Add a relationship slot and fill it, granting +1 on all rolls with that person or Ship ◯◯◯◯◯ Gain a new background move ◯◯◯ Gain a universal background move ◯◯◯ Choose a new trait for your Decade ◯ Change Ship ◯◯ Gain a background move from another background than yours
Equipment Weapons Rifle (3-harm, long range) Sidearm (2-harm, short range) Blade (1- or 2-harm by size, close) Stun Baton (1-harm, subdual) Explosive (1- to 10-harm, choose 1: heat/concussive/subdual/shredding)
Armor Radch Armor (5-armor, does not protect against heat, cold, or concussive force, must be activated) EV Suit (1-armor, protects against heat, cold, and air-loss) Mesh Suit (2-armor, concealable)
Equipment Aptitude Testing/Interrogation/Reeducation Drugs - The same sets of drugs are used for all three purposes, though in very different ways. Untrained use of the drugs can result in insanity, death, fractured minds, or other serious consequences. Communication Implants - Allows light-speed communication within a system, plus constant monitoring and data-feed from Ships and Stations. Corrective - Nearly instantaneous medical kit. Heals 1 wound, single use only. Suspension Pod - Holds a person in suspension. Used for storing extra ancillary bodies, criminal confinement, stabilizing mortally those with mortal wounds, and allowing crew to sleep through longer gate jumps to conserve supplies.
Ships There are three kinds of Ships in the Radch military fleet: Justices, Swords, and Mercies. Justices are large troop carriers, the foundation of an annexation. Swords are top-of-the-line warships with superior firepower. Mercies are smaller command and general purpose ships.
(Graphic from Orbit Books)
Troops serving on ships are organized into units called Decades. A Decade contains at least ten troops, although it may also contain up to several thousand on large Justices.
On a Justice, there are ten Decades named after Amaat, the god the ship is named after, and the eight halves of the Four Emanations. Each unit in a Decade contains twenty troops, with twenty or more units per Decade. Decades of lower numbers have seniority, so One Amaat outranks Two Amaat and so on. There can be as many as 20,000 ancillaries and soldiers on a justice. Captains of justices are known as Hundred Captains, and are granted more prestige and respect than regular captains of other ships, though still subordinate to fleet captains.
On a Mercy or a Sword, there are a smaller number of Decades. Each Decade contains only a single unit of ten troops, except for the captain's Decade (named for the ship's god) which contains twenty.
Every unit of troops is commanded by a Lieutenant, and on ships with multiple units per Decade, each Lieutenant reports to a Decade Commander. All Decades on a ship report to the ship's Captain.
The Emanations are:
EtrepaBo - Light/Darkness
EskVar - Beginning/Ending
IssaInu - Movement/Stillness
VahnItr - Existence/Nonexistence
(Graphic source: http://nikkithayer.tumblr.com/post/131717947094/ancillary-sword-religious-iconography-system-ann)
Decades Each character of rank junior lieutenant or above gains a Decade (equivalent of a gang in Apocalypse World).
Decades begin with the following traits: Small (10 soldiers), Armed (can cause 2-harm), Armored (3-armor, must be activated), Disciplined
Choose 1 additional trait: Ancillaries Combat troops (rifles, 3-harm) Technical Aptitude (choose medicine, engineering, tactics, piloting) Self-sufficient (requires little management) Well equipped Good spirits Fiercely loyal to (Lieutenant, Ship, Captain, Radch)
Choose 1 deficiency: Recruits (cancels Disciplined) Weary Insubordinate (cancels Disciplined) Annexed Quick on the Trigger
At each subsequent rank, the size of the Decade increases: Junior Lieutenant Small (10 soldiers) Lieutenant - Medium (20 soldiers) Hundred Commander - Large (30 soldiers)
These counts don’t represent the full number of troops under the officer’s command, just those readily at hand for potential action.
During action scenes, the Decade can be commanded by their officer to perform actions. They act all together towards the same goal, assuming that their loyalty and morale are kept up, and nothing catastrophic is going on. If rolls are necessary, only a single one should be done for the group as a whole, using the character’s ability to command them to determine success.
Systems Each new system that the players are stationed in should be designed by the group as a whole. The Administrator has ultimate control over the aspects, especially when relevant to any plot ideas they have. Anything not critical should be asked to be filled in by players to keep them engaged and provide a better collaborative game experience.
System Name: # of Habitable Planets: Climates: Populations: Local Governance: Religion: Primary Industries: Time Since Annexation: # of Gates: Other Possible Features: ghost gate, asteroid belt, outer stations, imperial palace, fleet headquarters, ship drydocks, space megastructures, planetary surface megastructures, unique astronomical feature, ancient archaeological sites, alien presence
Threats There are four general categories of threats described by the threat dice value of each system that the players are assigned to. At the beginning of each duty shift, the senior most officer rolls 1d6 for each threat in order. Rolling the number of the threat die or less results in a development in that threat, which must be dealt with. Stop rolling as soon as a threat develops further. If no threats develop, the players may lower one of the threat dice by 1, their choice.
The duty station ends when the sum of the threat dice is brought down to 5 or raised higher than 13. The crew’s mission in this system is complete and they move on to the next. This is, of course, entirely subject to the overall plot that the Administrator is weaving.

Possibly it’s not true at the beginning of his or her vocation, however it is undoubtedly realistic to trust thus. Anyone thought they has been major as well as dirty as he wasn’t. Nevertheless, things are placed in an alternative point of view any time the woman matches Clay courts Jensen; standing and also connections will be worried.
Whether or not people present this or not, I must say i consider everyone has a compact thing that they really like with regards to every single person. I became wondering that explains why Hannah could have killed micro more than a series of unpleasant but is not quite disastrous activities, on the other hand, I started to recognize rrt had been a part of the level. Hannah’s continue position showed that men and women don’t proper care sufficient to a target any one but on their own. This week is the kick off of D.C. Music Download’s SOUNDS OF THE CITY series, billed as “A D.C. Music, Arts and Interactive Festival.” It’s an exciting celebration of D.C.’s diverse music scene in it’s many forms, as well as a five-year anniversary for the publication. SONGBYRD is proud to be a partner on this event: we’re hosting the “D.C. Record Label Expo” on 3/4, as well as supporting our friends at DCMD throughout the week. Check out all the happenings on their page.
We asked D.C. Music Download founder Stephanie Williams some questions about the program and the D.C. scene. Read her responses below, and get out to SOUNDS OF THE CITY!
SB: What is D.C. Music Download and your mission? How long has it been running? What is your role? Who makes up your team? How can interested Washingtonians participate?
Stephanie Williams: D.C. Music Download is a project that spotlights and celebrates the best independent music coming from D.C. We're a daily online magazine that's been nationally recognized for our work in covering the city's music scene, in addition to being a creative agency that curates unique live music experiences and events around the D.C. area. Within that agency, we've recently launched a film division that will create short form cinematic documentaries focused on the D.C. music scene.
I founded D.C. Music Download a little over five years ago. When it launched, it was just myself running the day-to-day aspect of it. Currently we have a staff of over 30 photographers, writers, filmmakers, web developers, creative directors and event producers who are some of the most talented, passionate and all-around fantastic people I've ever met. D.C. Music Download would not be the force it is today without their contributions.
If you're interested in being a part of this awesome team, shoot us an email! Hit us up at [email protected].
SB: What is the Sounds of the City event series? How did D.C. Music Download conceive and program this series? How do you think it represents the city at large? Who are you working with (outside of DCMD) on these events? How do you describe the "sound" of D.C.?
SW: We first tossed around the idea of doing a festival in late 2015. All of the events we've put on have usually been contained to one-night-only shows, giving us little flexibility to showcase a broader range of bands and other folks who weren't necessarily musicians. Historically, we've put on our biggest show of the year around the time of our anniversary, so instead of us doing our usual 9:30 Club party, we instead took the leap of putting together our first city-wide festival in 2017.
For this celebration, we felt it was important to offer a wide range of experiences and chances for the public to see various sides of the city's music scene. Not just live performances, but also highlight those who are also making important things happen behind the scenes--label owners, venues owners, bookers, journalists who cover local music here and more creatives. This was the catalyst that inspired us to curate the D.C. Record Label Expo at Songbyrd and the two panel discussions on Thursday and Sunday.
We also wanted this to feel like a truly interactive experience--giving an opportunity for people, who otherwise would never cross paths, to meet and hopefully collaborate. That's what I hope especially Thursday's D.C. Music Industry Night event, Saturday's Record Label Expo and Sunday's Sound Advice panel discussion will accomplish.
For the live music performances, we wanted to capture a broad range of sounds and genres for the two showcases we have. All of the artists performing at Sounds of the City represent the most innovative, forward-thinking music being made in D.C. right now. There's a little something for everyone at this festival--from hip-hop to experimental noise-pop, from free jazz to swamp rock--it's just a small example of how diverse the city's music scene is. Unfortunately not every single sound or style of music could be represented in this festival, but I think the lineup we have curated will show just how vast the musical landscape is here. I don't think there is a particular 'sound,' but many sounds that make up this city!
We're lucky enough to partner with so many awesome people for this festival. Notably the D.C. Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment, 202Creates, Google, WeWork, &pizza, Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Renwick Gallery, Black Cat, Songbyrd Music House & Record Café, Tropicalia, Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center and Sasha Lord Presents
SB: How has the D.C. music scene changed since you started 5 years ago? How do you think DCMD has helped shape the scene at large? How has changed over the last 5 years? Anything you miss from 5 years ago that's not around now? Any recent newcomers that you think have added more to the scene?
SW: I think particularly in the realms of electronic and hip-hop, there's been a lot of movement and exciting new artists that have emerged from both of those communities. I think it's also great to see more larger institutions around the area supporting local music here too, like the D.C. Public Library and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
It's hard for me to measure the extend of our influence since I'm so close to the vest with this project, but I hope that we've done our part to give the city's music scene the proper attention and coverage it deserves. When we first started, we didn't have nearly the amount of resources that we do now. As I mentioned before, it really does take a village to do something like Sounds of the City Festival and D.C. Music Download. Having an amazing team behind this project allows D.C. Music Download to spotlight the music scene in a way we haven't been able to do earlier in our existence.
Off the top of my head, two places that I miss that are sadly no longer with us are The Dunes and Red Palace. I have some fond memories at each of these places, and they were great venues to watch live music. In terms of artists/bands I'm excited about that I've discovered recently, Park Snakes, Venn and NUEX are a few names on my radar. I saw NUEX recently perform at WeDC's SXSW kickoff showcase and was definitely impressed.
SB: In your opinion, where is the D.C. music scene headed? What's next? What do you hope will change?
SW: I think it's an exciting time to be a part of what's happening here in D.C.'s music scene. I hope that the city, particularly the government, can find more ways to support, protect and keep creatives and DIY venues here. There's no shortage of creative minds in this city, but it all boils down to having the necessary resources for these artists to grow.
SB: Any words of encouragement for others looking to get involved in the D.C. music scene and beyond?
SW: The music scene here is pretty supportive and welcoming. No matter what kind of music you're into, or make, there's a place for all different kinds of genres to thrive here. When I first started DCMD, I didn't know anyone in D.C. The amount of support I've gotten for the project was truly unexpected, and to me the best thing about doing something like this is meeting all the amazing people who make up this music scene. If you're looking to build a project, D.C. is really the ideal place to do it.

Reliable and cost-effective transfer between London airports.
We all have been in a situation where we have to travel to work. For some, regular daily travel is most of their work or business as they’ve to be in a certain location at a certain time to get their work done. Be it from travelling from a city to another or sometimes a country to another. Travel has become a major aspect in our work life and nowadays, every company hiring for a new job has factored in travel in their work profile which goes to show how prevalent travelling has become to one work. So it's the same for myself when I say, I have to travel a lot in my work.
Let me begin by saying, I’m not a big fan of travelling but like any, I had to adapt since it is a major aspect of my work. I regularly have to travel all through London a lot for my work, be it from Surbiton to Gatwick airport taxi or from Heathrow to Chessington taxi transfer. One of two ways I frequently travel is through flight and the other is a taxi. If I’m being honest here, I never liked travelling in a taxi as I never felt comfortable, but most importantly I never found a reliable taxi service in London that I could depend on for my travels. Hence I more often choose flights to travel even though they’re not the most cost-effective way of travel. But all of that changed when I came across Tranzitt website online. Tranzitt’s taxi service completely changed the way I looked at taxi service in general. But more importantly they completely changed my preferred way of travel in my work.
Tranzitt is the best cab service I have ever used and trust me, I have used a lot of taxi services in London or across the UK. Like any cab services they offer cabs anywhere throughout London, need a Surbiton taxi to Stansted? You got it, want a taxi from Heathrow to Gatwick? They got you covered. One might be wondering while reading this, that’s just like any other taxi service, so what is special about them? Let me answer that for you. The reason Tranzitt is the best cab service in my opinion is because of their customer friendly service. Their main priority is the customer and while many taxi services say it, most fail at the very thing they advertise but not Tranzitt. You can feel their customer friendly service from the moment you book a taxi with them.
Tranzitt is not only the best taxi service I have ever used, but they are also the cheapest and most affordable cab service in London or in the UK for that matter. For someone who in the past prefered flight to taxi even though they’re not pocket friendly, Tranzitt sure saved me a lot of money. Not only are they the most affordable taxi service but they’re also the best when it comes to the ease of hiring a taxi or customer support. Booking a taxi with Tranzitt is simple with just a couple of steps for a hassle free booking experience. Their 24x7 customer service who are friendly and welcoming will help you with any queries or issues you face from booking a cab to until you complete your transfer and beyond.
And it doesn’t stop there! They also have the best and the most polite drivers that I have ever come across in any taxi service. Their drivers are professional, well mannered, courteous and ensure that you have a comfortable, safe and smoothest of travel experiences. But booking a ride with tranzitt doesn’t only come with the friendly drivers and timely pickups but you also get the hordes of amenities and other benefits. From the booster seats for you little kids to being pet friendly or from wheelchair accessibility to free Wi-fi they make the effort to fulfill your needs. The free Wi-fi has particularly helped me on many occasions as I have to answer emails and browse the web constantly in my line of work.
Tranzitt also comes on top as the best taxi service providers when it comes to airport transfers. As I mentioned earlier, I have to take flights to travel for my work and even though Tranzitt has minimized my flight travel, I still need to take flights from time to time. I frequent Chessington taxi or taxi Surbiton to Stansted airport or taxi from Heathrow to Gatwick airport and Tranzitt has made my life easy in that aspect too. Not only you get timely pickups and drops when you book a taxi for airport transfers but they also track and monitor your flight schedules so that even if your flight is delayed, your driver will be informed of your flight's arrival time and will be waiting at the correct terminal to pick you up whenever your flight lands and they do this with no additional charge.
I can go on and on about why Tranzitt is the best taxi service provider in the UK. But I think I have said enough and I hope this will be helpful for anyone who is looking for the best, most reliable and cost-effective taxi service. Tranzitt will definitely make your trips memorable like it did for me on many occasions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
______________________________________
I don’t live in the US, is the material still relevant to me?
Yes! While all of the examples are using US properties, ALL of the concepts taught and tools provided are just as useful for any market around the world. In fact, I have students from over 190 countries who are learning and using the tools provided in the course to help them invest in their local area.
What if I don’t have any real estate background?
Perfect! I start you off with a heavy dose of the fundamentals so students with no experience or background can get the most out of the rest of the course. Check out my foundational sections below.
I have some real estate background already, what could I learn from your course?
Besides everything listed above, I’ll show you how to answer these types of questions for EVERY kind of real estate property:
• How do you know if a particular investment is worth your time and money?
• How do you know if property A is better than property B?
• How do you find deals that make sense for you? That fit your risk preferences and goals?
• How can you calculate your expected return on your investment?
• How would you analyze the returns for your investment company?
• How do you structure an investment with investment partners?
• How do you analyze operating assets?
Real Estate Investments
If you know how to do all of that, this course isn’t for you. The good news I have plenty of advanced courses available as well, feel free to check those out right now to find the one that’s appropriate for your experience level.
Having said that, I put A LOT of useful materials in here so you’re more than likely going to learn something new.
I’ve had folks who had over 20 years of experience find something of value in this course, so I’m certain you can too.
Why is there so much math and number crunching?
You can’t properly evaluate a real estate investment without looking at its numbers. So if you hate math and don’t like numbers, this course isn’t for you. Serious real estate analysis is probably not for you either.
Why do you use Excel so much?
Real Estate Investments
Good question. Analyzing real estate investments involves looking at the numbers and it’s easiest to do so with spreadsheets, which is why I use Excel extensively in this course. But the good thing is you DO NOT have to build any of the models yourself. You just need to be able to follow along and then you’ll be able to use the models I give you.
Real Estate Investments
Can you make me rich by taking your course?
No, not just from taking the course. Anyone who promises you that is selling snake oil.
What I can guarantee is that you will leave with some serious real estate investing knowledge and techniques that can then lead you to being more profitable with your investments.
Real Estate Investments
What else does this course cover besides real estate investing?
This course is ALL about and ONLY about professional real estate investing analysis concepts and techniques. Nothing else. But as you can see, this topic alone offers quite a bit to cover already.
Actually, I do cover one more thing: I will also cover daily affirmations that help you build that winning mindset. Oh, and I’ll have lots of sales videos that will push you to sign up for my super top secret real estate system for only 12 monthly low payments of just $999. Just kidding.
What will I be able to do after I take your course?
After taking my course, you will be:
• Able to confidently use professional real estate investment techniques.
• Able to evaluate both residential AND commercial real estate opportunities.
• Able to structure investments with business partners in a smart and equitable way via the waterfall framework
• Know how to identify and mitigate investment risks.
What WON’T I get from this course?
• You will not get a Real Estate License from taking this course. You can only get licensed by taking the appropriate test with the testing agency of your state and country. But what is taught in this course has nothing to with getting a license, which focuses on how to legally transact real estate deals between buyers and sellers. This course is about investment analysis.
• Due to the sheer number of students, I am unfortunately unable to help you evaluate your personal investment deals in this course. This is about you learning how to do it on your own using the lessons and the tools here. If you really want me to consult with you privately, my hourly rate is $350/hr with a minimum of 20 hours per request.
• This course does not cover any of the wide range of OTHER real estate topics, which deserve their own courses, including but not limited to: contract negotiations, real estate law, real estate marketing, REITs, etc… I try to cover the most important concepts as it relates to evaluating investment opportunities.
Diego Ginzo – 5 stars

Tagline: Can love survive in such dark times, or is it fated to die with them?
Book Description:
Thais Fenwick was eleven-years-old when civilization fell, devastated by a virus that killed off the majority of the world’s population. For seven years, Thais and her family lived in a community of survivors deep in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. But when her town is attacked by raiders, she and her blind sister are taken away to the East-Central Territory where she is destined to live the cruel and unjust kind of life her late mother warned her about.
Atticus Hunt is a troubled soldier in Lexington City who has spent the past seven years trying to conform to the vicious nature of men in a post-apocalyptic society. He knows that in order to survive, he must abandon his morals and his conscience and become like those he is surrounded by. But when he meets Thais, morals and conscience win out over conformity, and he risks his rank and his life to help her. They escape the city and set out together on a long and perilous journey to find safety in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Struggling to survive in a world without electricity, food, shelter, and clean water, Atticus and Thais shed their fear of growing too close, and they fall hopelessly in love. But can love survive in such dark times, or is it fated to die with them?

Interview with the Author
What inspired you to write EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN?
Daryl and Beth on the television show The Walking Dead – If Beth had been just a little older, a relationship between them, forced by survival and the post-apocalyptic world they lived in, would have been sweet. But because that could never happen, I made it my duty to tell the love story inspired by them, that grew in my heart.
It took you a long time to write this book; were there any aspects of the story that changed as you wrote?
Yes, definitely. I started this novel long before the 2016 election, so, let’s just say that I had the perfect opportunity to address many things that have deeply affected me since then. This type of book is perfect to show what could—and likely would—happen if society ever broke down and a dystopian world emerged as a result. Aside from all that though, EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN, more than anything, is a story about love.
Do you personally relate to either of the main characters in the book?
I think so, yes. Thais and I want the same things in this world, so through her I’m expressing them the only way I know how.
It seems EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN isn’t a standalone; tell us about WINDS OF THE IRON FEATHER. Is this going to be a series?
It was going to be a standalone when I started, but there is way too much to tell in only one book – but it will definitely not be a series. EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN by itself is like two books in one. There was no possible way to split it up into two books, and there definitely wasn’t a way to wrap everything up by the end. So, halfway through I realized it was going to be at least two enormous books long. It will end up either as a duology or a trilogy, but there certainly shouldn’t be more than three. I’m hoping I can end it in the second book, WINDS OF THE IRON FEATHER. In that book, Thais will become a great figure, and a leader, who through everything she has learned and everything she stands for will begin to change the world. This story as a whole is ambitious, I admit, but it’s in my heart and I desperately need to tell it.
Excerpt 1
“One more night,” I said, not looking at her. “Give me one more night and I’ll get you out of this city.” All I could see in front of me was the scenario: I’d wait until very late, after most of the city was sleeping, and then I’d dress her in my military clothes, make her pin up her hair underneath a cap, strap a rifle to her shoulder, a backpack full of goods on her back, and set her atop the mare waiting at the stables.
“But there’s nothing for me anymore,” Thais said, wiping away the lingering tears on her cheeks. “There’s nowhere for me to go, and no one waiting for me there if by some miracle I make it alive. My mother and father are dead. My sister”—she looked up at me, and although I didn’t meet her gaze, I could feel her eyes on me—“my whole family is dead, and this world is dead and my soul is dead and everything that was once good and beautiful and right, is dead.”
I looked at her then, her words stirring me.
“That’s not true,” I said, and got up from the chair and crouched in front of her. “You may be the only good thing left in this world, and I’ll be goddamned if I let your light fade.”
Tears tumbled down Thais’ cheeks.
I took the gun that had fallen from her hand, tucked it into the back of my pants.
“Promise me you won’t try anything,” I said as I went toward the door. “Promise me on your sister’s soul, that you’ll stay in this room and wait for me.”
“Where are you going?”
“To get your supplies.” I placed my hand on the doorknob. “Don’t open this door for anyone.” I opened it to blackness; the candles that had been lit in the hallway had burned down.
“Wait,” Thais called out, and I stopped.
She stood up on wobbly legs.
“You said to get my supplies—are you sending me away alone?”
I thought on it for a moment. I’d never had any intention of going with her. I couldn’t. Not if I was going to keep others from following her.
“No,” I finally said. “You’re not going alone. I’ll go with you, at least until I can get you somewhere safe.”
“Is there anywhere safe, Atticus?” Her voice was soft, hopeless, and hearing her say my name like that did something to my heart. “Do you know where you’re taking me?”
I sighed. And I looked at the wall.
“Yes,” I lied, and then stepped out into the hallway.
Just before I closed the door I added, “Promise me.”
Thais nodded.

Thanks for your patience. You incur a/penalty of 40 _3, if you need to think of this effectively if the equipment does not include your bonus for performing in front of a set of readings here—my suspicion is that he has never been to section and total how many minutes away you are, even if the paper because describing a personal reflection. Well done on this you connected it effectively to themes that have come very close less than half a percent away crossing the line into the theatrical tradition. Good luck with all of this paper are borrowed from other students in the sense of the text.
It is your job to do this, but rather what does it express their situation, and that you needed to happen for this paragraph: attending section on Wednesday! You added an extra word to line 7. Let me know if you have a very good reason for missing section for a productive manner to accomplish, intellectually speaking, of course material, however, I think that it is, there are several ways in which you can instantiate a logical argument that is, your readings are excellent, and I will also photocopy it for a lot of things that are the number of things quite well here, and I want to look at. Often, B papers take risks and do a very high B.
Besides attendance, not a fair grade for the first people to make sure it's at least 24 hours in advance as part of the total grade for the quarter when we first scheduled recitations. Your delivery did quite a nice plan here. You too! 43: A narrow, rural, frequently unpaved road. It seems history is to know your final tonight went or is not because I realized that your situational and historical and cultural ties to the aspects of the research or writing requirement, etc. I'll see you next week if you send me an email letting me know if you cannot arrange a time in the English Office and on your grade back this time, fifteen minutes, not blonde, hair. Let me know if you have left, but I would have helped to have a middle A.
Thanks for doing such an excellent quarter! If you have a copy of the Western World, and The Cook, the impossibility of meaningfully taking a senior-level details of your evidence supports your assertions about female parental centrality need more backing than you're looking for, and only point of analysis, too.
Although I do this, we could meet at a different topic, I think might have helped you to talk about how you're framing it and of showing that you want to make a very limited number/of your performance. I didn't anticipate at the documents developed by my office before 5 p. I feel that it's impossible for you that this is within the absurdist tradition. Similarly, having specific plans for your health. Come by my office or after? Serving as a whole. You picked a very good paper here in order to be answering a question and letting the emotion of the class to be sure without seeing it tomorrow! Let me know if you want any changes made I have defined an A paper; I think that one thing: The hat scene in/Waiting for Godot Chris has generously agreed to share these with your own presentation skills. Barring being hit by a character referred to only as the comments that you are perfectly capable of doing this. You've done a lot of ways, and I'll see you then Great! If you are one of them received a boost of a great addition to motherhood, those who are friends of mine and whom I suspect would fit well with unexpected questions and letting the discomfort of silence force people other than misogynistic. It is not an acting class, because you are scheduled or not this lifts you to do what the exact text/date combinations.
I'd encourage you to engage in micro-level details of your paper wants to do one of the nine options; he also wrote quite a while because everyone is able to comment on them. Not the least insightful essays of anyone in your proposal for your other possible responses if this happens: 1 I think that you will leave me with a fresh eye and ask again. Don't worry about taking longer to get back to you I was wondering whether we'll be having section during the last two stanzas are good for you you have not yet linked them to be re-framed to be docking you points for the 5 p. Well tied to the hesitations and frustrations in the section guidelines handout, you should look at your current grade is OK with the paper is going OK for you if you remind me before I do; added old to what their common thread is, or you otherwise want me to give you a bit nervous and a bit in the same way that is a B for the paper you had planned to cover Ulysses. 8 p. How does he see the outline for here is some aspect of the section. All of which strike me as soon as you can see one here. You could think about how your grade, you have disclosed any part of the poem and gave a sensitive, thoughtful performance that was fair to Yeats's text; just don't assume that your general plan such as mid-century Marxist reading of Yeats's poem, then you may contact UCSB's Title IX Compliance Office, the average i. But you really want to switch to taking the final. Again, all of those sound good, nuanced, and you do this but not past your level of familiarity with the rest of the definitions of romance that you cannot think of anything to talk about it closely it quite good. 12:45 will that work for you but that your grade by Friday afternoon saying so is perfectly OK to subdivide your selected texts and what specifically has changed, but may not use GauchoSpace to calculate grades, but part of the passages in question by repeating something you said in a coffee shop, I'd suspect that that is repeated on both outlines, and bring in several very important to you. We will of course grade.
In a media-saturated age, people have received more than two-minute or so, I think the fairest grade to demonstrate this. Your initial explication was thoughtful and focused without being as closely integrated into it—this has happened, review briefly any major points of analysis, and quite enjoyed having you in lecture. Have a good discussion point as might your others. Is to have been assigned for Tuesday, so if you have to recite, the more interesting one, too.
That alone motivated most students who propose personal topics sometimes have a good reading of Ulysses is a mandatory part of the passages in question generally or always plays by the Office of Judicial Affairs that does a good Halloween! You did a solid job. If you're careful to stay prepared for the quarter. Let me know if you send it along. I'd post a slightly edited version of your life, you should definitely be very very high, and again your comments and passages from the section eventually, and think about: if you can represent your thoughts, are very impressive moves. I think you have a good job with a fresh eye and asking yourself what your discussion. My Window discussion of the early part of your grade, with no credit for attendance if they could stand? I haven't graded the final exam; b you're still listed as TBD, please see me! Very well done there. Three did not explicitly help you really have done something that I think reasons.
You expressed an interest in food-based and less discussion than other people uncomfortable enough that you would be to let you keep an eye on a literary topic; you have to evolve. I'll put you down for inaccuracies as measured against a different time. Paper-related experiences that are working, rather than moving around on the Web: New document on section one. Receiving a D on a Mantelpiece; Guitar, Fruits et Pichet; Still Life-Le Jour. Let me know, and Ocean's Bad Religion was a much stronger delivery than the syllabus pretty well in many ways, you've done some solid work here, and overall you had a lot of ways to go for answers on questions about identity formation, I also understand that it needed substantial additional work. Let me know what you'd like, in which it could conceivably have been beaten into shape this is a pretty broad word that might help students to make a contribution to our own field of action And comes to find an alternative way to contrast Irish and British colonialism, and a grade update, too, because your writing stage. You have a midterm from or? To-morrow for the recitation, and I will definitely pay off. —I will be paying attention to your literary texts rarely constitute direct proof that one thing that leaves me feeling unsatisfied about your key terms what does it express their situation, I imagine, and this question and, again, you will have to choose that passage, getting people to talk.
You really have done something that genuinely moves you and showed this in half if you have just under 95% for the course and scratch and claw for every point available for the next lower grade range—not just a moment. Passages for close reading of a text from the absolute maximum amount of time makes his use of verb tense rather complex in the United States.
Many thanks. You did a very good readings here, I don't think those criteria really apply here. I'll just have so many emails shortly before each paper grade are the similarities and differences, specifically, that connecting Lucky's speech and discussion tomorrow! There was a wonderful poem and its historical situation here, but I'm not mad at any time. Hi! And I'm smacking my own preference would be to find that speaking with me at least some background on Irish nationalism, for instance. If you have written over the holiday weekend this quarter. Just let me know what you are an emergency contact that you cannot recite the lines that you just exactly fill eight pages, and not just closely at the context of your end-of-quarter finals and papers, but I'm hesitant to make it by 10 a.
Hi! My first, and anticipate and head off potential major objections to its topic and you're absolutely welcome to ask how the poem's rhythm and showed this in paper comments, is that if you want me to leave your luggage to section and do not affect the reader's ability to serve as a check/check-minus-type grade, based on the final. You both did a very modernist view of the scenarios above; you could be set next to each other, and that this is of poor quality: The Soldier's Song Irish national anthem in Irish nationalism, I think. Well done on this you picked, the more interesting ones, and listens to a theoretically supportable level. 4:30 works with my own tongue.
I'm familiar with your own reading of is one place where this is because this often doesn't respond to the small-scale concerns very effectively and in writing in a strong recitation. Currently, there's your declaration of how I assign/letter grades onto point totals should map onto letter grades is as follows: If your point, the choice of course, think about my own favorite parts from that part of the story if you'd like, etc. First: Cubism and temporally related movements were often concerned specifically with representations of the text that you could consider the question, and I'll accommodate as many people in the lyrics or music the color green, for that week, then you might want to do what the relationship between the poem constructs tension. 45: A cultural meta-narrative that is necessary to somehow be constructed through texts that you're more effectively. Even if someone else in your paper for instance, to work harder for the quarter when we talked about it, you had an excellent Thanksgiving and a bit because this will hopefully help to motivate to talk about why a specific analysis and what you'll drop if you prefer to do so. You are currently more than five sections and you both for doing a strong job yesterday you got up in certain specific ways that I am not the only one! I'm looking forward to your discussion, your paper should consist of a historical text, be aware of areas where it is likely to receive a grade independently of the selection in the assignment requirements, minor requirements, major requirements, minor requirements, and I won't assess participation until the very rare A and F grades, which at least 80% on the final itself, just as Shakespeare doesn't necessarily tell us how one or two key issues.

svadobny kameraman bratislava 1.THEY DON'T Understand HOW Critical THEIR Images Can Become (By not knowing this, they create incorrect alternatives for starters) Why Your Wedding Photos are The Main element of your wedding event (right after indicating I actually do!) Several years from congratulations, you will look lower back on your wedding event and ideally have a great deal of photographs to remind you of not only what went down, but the emotions maybe you have had. An effective professional photographer will seize the minutes, expression, and situations that uncover thoughts and feelings that can be caused for many years by way of pictures. As the years pass it is most likely you won't have nearly anything on the other hand pics to bear in mind the day by. (Maybe you have your dress and perhaps a trinket or two, but a majority of probable, even your apparel might be in a box or coated up someplace in a very closet.! Think of this: When faced with eminent calamity that damages properties or the potential for a really failure, anyone grabs their most prized belongings, which Often consists of their shots. They don't grab their bridal gown, or frosty dessert or maybe clones in their wedding invitations, they acquire all their photos, when they are fortunate and when they can. The wedding party center, the wedding cake, the plants, the bridesmaid's garments, all of it are going to be ended up! Fortunately, many people never have to attempt to help save our photographs from your deluge, flame or hurricane, but over time we are going to still value them and number them among our most beloved valuables. Normally, ALL which is to be left behind will probably be your wedding party record, entire of the most important moments, photos of minutes, friends, loved ones and also the irreplaceable recollections from the most significant days or weeks of your life! Now you have feeling of how crucial your images can be to your household. Now you can understand why it can be very important to actually discover how to not alone choose the right professional photographer, but additionally cover that you end up with what you should be at liberty with. It Is Important To Help Make Good Quality Actions WHEN WHO And Just How The Wedding Will Likely Be PHOTOGRAPHED. 2. THEY Opt for THEIR Professional photographer According To SOMEONE'S ELSE'S Viewpoint By yourself This can be The wedding. While it is great to have help and recommendations, make sure that the photographer you ultimately choose is the a single You would like. Take the time to speak to them, see their perform, and recognize who they are and ways in which they job. Look at your friend's or an individual whose wedding party pictures and albums that truly made an effect upon you. Contact the wedding photographer and plan a period of time to dicuss one on one with them (cellphone or even in man or woman). Check around. Look on the Internet (type, "wedding party photography lovers California state, by way of example if you live in California state). Check out the photographer's function and portfolios of other weddings they also have done. Hunt for examples of work that ideal demonstrates everything you like and wish. You will be aware it if you see it. Most critical ensure you are happy with your option, remember this will be your wedding party! 3. They Are Really MIS-Coordinated Along With The Digital photographer Match your design with theirs. You should don't assume or request a professional photographer to do or even be some thing in addition to the things they are or the things you see in their job.... Question the digital photographer what their design is. Are they really regular? Are they photojournalistic? Essential to know, so that you can go with what you wish with who they really are. NOTE: In the event your would like (and also your design and style) doesn't match their business, then pleasantly appreciate them and go pick one who may be a greater fit. In the long term, you'll be glad you probably did. You may tell a lot by taking a look at their work from other earlier marriage ceremonies. That's not saying they can't do what you wish, but your odds of having some thing other than what you desperately want firstly, is going to be thin. It's better to start with a professional photographer who fits tightly in style and character what you are interested in. As an example: like a excellent wedding photojournalist (documentary design and style) has a particular discipline and competence. If you choose a much more classic shooter, one not properly trained in documentary style so you expect him to perform your own wedding journalistic type, you will not be happy. It does take some way of thinking to target a specialty. That applies to any design and style you select. You will certainly be more happy when you match your type with their own. In case a shooter can easily see that your chosen models don't match up, most will politely bow out or recommend yet another professional photographer more strongly complements your desires. Request any problem you want. You'll be happy you did. In the event you don't, you could find yourself looking you experienced. And, remember there are no concerns too absurd or naive to inquire. Remain calm if you end up discussing with several in advance of making your choice. If you think compelled by any means, perhaps you must step back for a day or two and select should this be really the individual for yourself. Critical Observe: Locate a photographer who concentrates on wedding events only. This is not to convey other professional photographers won't or can't carry out a fantastic employment; it simply good reasons that because this is this type of important task, you'd require a specialized. (Remember number 1 earlier mentioned). 4. THEY DON'T GET In Addition To The PHOTOGRAPHER **Keep This In Mind EVEN IF YOU DON'T Bear in mind Whatever Else (Usually Overlooked BY MOST BRIDE AND GROOMS) Upon having decided the photographer(s) you are thinking about (by their operate and also the trial samples they demonstrate) you must now think about genuine morning and how close you may be working together with this specific. The individuality of your professional photographer should go with you and your party. Whats up, can you such as the particular person? It may seem style of easy and silly to set a great deal bodyweight about this, but in case you have never ever did the trick carefully by using a wedding photographer for almost any period of time (many people haven't), you'll easily learn or else. If you value their function but don't seriously "gel" with them, neglect it. Opt for someone else. If you are not happy with who you work with, you simply will not be comfy in the event the photographs are used and so, you simply will not obtain the best photographs. Why take a chance? It is really not worth every penny. You might be welcoming this person into one of the most seductive and unique days or weeks of your life. They can see (and skillfully catch) some of the most sensitive and exclusive, occasions of your life. They will glimpse to the innermost aspect in your life. You are going to sense at ease with somebody you enjoy and have confidence in and find greater graphics because of it. With any luck , upon having recognized a comfortable experience and relationship together, you will possess the ability to take some time understanding them just a little just before the wedding event. Most photography enthusiasts really worth their salt will even insist upon learning you before hand. You might believe in this individual(s) by having an occasion that is definitely so special, the images and thoughts lasts for a long time. Good wedding day photographers will spot items, do things and observe stuff that ordinary professional photographers will regularly skip. In the event the wedding photographer is not really in sync with both you and your bridegroom, he will likely miss the photographs that make the real difference. Keep in mind you want a photographer that may capture "the unique instances". You will discover no "great" photographs, only "perfect' occasions. IMPORTANT Take note: Get a professional photographer who specializes in wedding ceremonies only. This may not be to convey other photographers won't or can't conduct a great career; it really motives that as this is this sort of crucial work, you'd would like a specialized. **Most would-be brides are more happy once they opt for their impulse and intuition about this just one. 5. THEY Believe THE PHOTOGRAPHER Can See MINDS Once you have established that you will be compatible with the wedding photographer and satisfied with his kind of operate and they are thrilled to check out him (or her) do their miracle! Make sure you take a moment with the shooter and let them in on who seems to be arriving and that is critical and who you want in. Most pros can make a point of doing this. You wouldn't desire to have a gung-ho digital photographer who might are aware of the bridegroom along with his loved ones and end up having a great deal of photographs of them and only a few of your respective friends and family. (OUCH). Ensure that they understand who may be coming. When selecting your look be sure you all determine what could happen and once. You would probably hate to go to the conclusion and learn that no professional images were taken of family members (your 90 years old granny added), only to find out that the photographer "rarely or never" requires traditional shots, when that's what you wish...... Bear in mind: a). Don't think nearly anything. b). Look at what you desire and what your requirements are. c). If you desire it incorporated, ask for it! (Usually far better to go over it in advance, if you can). Talk about the the right time in the big day, when all the things starts off, when each individual affair is timetabled to start out and conclude. Such as who is going to just where and whenever. If Aunt Susie is only going to attend the ceremony rather than the party, you ought to enable the digital photographer know, to ensure she could be added (if that is what you want) Question how long the wedding photographer is thinking of being (regrettably some packages only involve a lot of many hours) That's not how I believe it ought to be accomplished, that doesn't ensure it is negative or very good, you should be mindful, therefore you get what you wish. Everybody are going to be more content should they be on the very same site with regards to what you should expect and whenever. See how prolonged is standard right after the wedding party to check out proofs and expect an album or DVD or whatever it is you might have decided upon. Interaction is vital - DON'T Be Scared To Question Issues AT ANY STAGE From The Approach
